Ten-Tenths Friendly League Season 2
At last, (I know) I am able to announce the start of the second season. I am just posting here the Tracks and the first couple of dates, to get you started.
The format will be as last year with a practice server now a couple of days before the race, to give us a weekend off. If everyone is happy with the start time of 8pm GMT then it will be set as that. There are 2 tracks to be decided, so in reply to this message could you just put the 2 tracks you would like to race on, and only 2 please. The tracks will be finalised in 2 weeks time (for the first race at latest). There is a break for a few weeks around christmas with the start date TBD, depending on server. To register if you are interested in the races could you email me please with your race name, GPL rank (if you have one) and what type of internet connection you have. I will then email you the full rules for the season (no shift R penalties for one) Therefore the race order, car and race dates used for this season are: Kyalami Brabham 16th September Monaco Cooper 30th September Zandvoort Ferrari 14th October Spa Honda 28th October Rouen Ferrari Silverstone BRM Snetterton 67 Lotus Part 2, held after Christmas 2003, start date TBD Monza Honda Nurburgring Cooper Mosport Lotus Watkins Glen Eagle Mexico Brabham Add on track TBD BRM Add on track TBD Lotus Hope that helps

Looks a lot more challenging than before - i like! I'm guessing the mismatching of track to car was on purpose?

You know what I mean, the Lotus is a pig at Mosport, the Eagle is a pig at the Glen, the BRM is a pig at Silverstone, the Honda is a pig everywhere etc. It should be good.

I say pig, but my pb is 1m05.306. It's just more difficult than most of the others to drive consistantly quickly.

Nah, the Eagle i have come to realise is without a doubt my favorite car. It suits me perfectly. The only other car i would normally contemplate swapping it for would be the Cooper or the BRM

I don't even remember setting that time, i suspect D doesn't either. Ayse's been working hard on his Monster rank so it doesn't surprise me he's so hard. From what i remember it was quite hard to get negative...

Dang, better do some work on that one. I only did about 7 laps for that time cos I needed it to complete my Brab rank. I reallt hate Kyalami in most cars though.

Haven't really taken so much in, but I'm slightly surprised that we are racing on three circuits with the same cars as last year -
Monaco - Cooper Zandvoort - Ferrari Mexico - Brabham Still, whatever. Pleased to see Snett 67 - lovely little track. Should be good racing there. For add-on tracks, I go for Le Mans Sarthe and Reims. (I like the quick circuits...... )

And yes, the Lotus is a pig at Mosport - I can vouch for that from last night. I fell of 5 times, once at T1 and 4 times at T2......

 I can't tell you how much i hate that track.... Silverstone BRM will be fun anyway. (how many of us will throw it away on lap one at Abbey?)

right, i just had a go at an int long race at kyalami in the brab to see where i stand. My best lap was 1:21.146, possible best 1:20.61, but i cant average anything higher than 1:22, about 1:21.5 if a clean lap but all too often small mistakes creep in. i'm using alison hine generation 2 setups with GH2 gearing btw.
i'm going to aim to get my average down to 21.5 in the race, and lap time down to sub 20.5 by the time of the TTFL race. |
