lol yes. my dream is to race in the 24hrs of le mans (or something close to that). and im in America. lol no nascar for me..

Thank you for clearning that up, Panozlmp1. i remeber on eurosport that they showed the AB crew, and a few of the guys looked familar to me(they were at Road America with Konrad in 2003). Does Konrad employ Chris Crawford, or is he employed by AB? one interesting thing to know, Chris Crawford played a major role with the team this year, and it could be a big thing if he stays/goes to AB or Konrad next year.

Why would Jurgen Alzen want to sell the alien ( "Turbinchen"-Porsche)? The unreliabilty? that would mean no more VLN, would AB then just run in Procar(German GT series that will start in 2005) with the Maseratis? a lot of questions still left to be answered.

And another question. What will Franz do with 4 Saleens now? I know one has been sold or leased to Max Stanco, but theres still another 3. Most likely, we will see 2 of them in FIA GT, but what about the other one? Maybe some ALMS races?!(i hope!!!!)

no i knew about them being at the GT Festival and their plans for 2005... the above list is for full-season entries only, and in the article they state that they are only planning on running a limited schedule of the Spa 24 Hours and the final 5 Mideast/Asian rounds.

The german magazine Motorsport aktuell worte in the last issue that Reiter was testing in Italy and was as fast as a Ferrari F550 which was also on the track.

But they donßt wrote which F550 (BMS, Larbre, Wieth, XL-Racing )with which driver.

you can only take test times at face value as you don't know what each team's program was for the day (i.e. fuel loads, tires, drivers, testing mission for that day, etc.)

it would be great if Reiter can get the Lambo up and running, they always seem to do a better job with the car than DAMS... does anyone know why Reiter doesn't race the car himself like he did back with the Diablo?

Their was a press release on this by Reiter. It was the Larbre 550 and Peter Kox was driving the Lamborghini.

The press release said the pace on slicks was comparable during the 4 test days.

Quote:
Hans Reiter, head of the eponymous engineering company, said: "It was very encouraging. On intermediate and wet-weather tyres, the Lamborghini went really well, lapping faster than the Prodrive-built Ferrari that also ran in the test.

"On the slick tyres we need a little improvement because the Lamborghini is mid-engined and the tyre compound was designed for a front-engined car, but even so it was close: sometimes the Ferrari was one- or two-tenths of a second per lap quicker, sometimes the Lamborghini was one- or two-tenths quicker; it varied from day to day."

Phillip Islands? Why that one? From what I've heard Ratel was "hinting" at Bathurst.

The one , the only Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Victoria. Home to the Australian MotoGP. Also probably the quickest track in the country with a fabulous back drop. It's almost on the beach.

I know the track, but why are you saying that track will be used and not Bathurst? As far as I know there haven't been any rumours or hints towards Phillip Island, and there have been towards Bathurst.

I have heard that BMS Scuderia Italia will stick to the 550s.
The MC12 should be run by JMB (2cars), Ecurie Ecosse (1 car) and Zakspeed (1 car for Alzen and Bartels).
AF Corse will not be running MC12s.

I have no idea if they are combining their forces, but I am pretty sure about the Zakspeed name.

They ran two 360's in the British GT right? Or is that Scuderia Ecosse?

would make sense if Zakspeed does go with AB. since AB does not have a team to support them next year (this year, AB had 80% Konrad personal on their team, and they used the Konrad raceshop). now since they are going to Maserati's , they have split with Konrad. so they will most likely need another team to "help" them

If I'm not mistaken Alzen has a raceshop as well. Still Zakspeed is the bigger one of the two though, also with more endurance-experience.

Indeed, the expectation was that AB Performance Racing would move to the Jurgen Alzen Motorsport base near the Nurburgring. If Zakspeed are genuinely coming back to FIA GTs, then it's (very welcome) news to me.

It was indeed Scuderia Ecosse which ran in British GTs this year, a wholly different entity from the venerable Ecurie Ecosse of David Murray fame.

But the reason was that Konrad doesn´t have enough personal this year so they´re helped out with mechanics of Uwe´s brother Jürgen Alzen.
Jürgen Alzen Motorsport runs two cars in the Porsche Michelin Suopercup, the 996 Turbo in the Langstreckenmeisterschaft and a couple of 996GT3-R or Cup Cars.

Another question: Are Alzen and Zakowski friends enough to run a team...
