Rory has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Grip Level Question

One for the techies amongst us....

Does grip square with a rubbered in track for all cars, or is it more beneficial for cars with less aerodynamic grip?

Reason for asking is, RBR at Singapore today in FP2 - the track is green, and they are flying. But they have the advantage in they have the best aerodynamic package. Everyone else will have to depend on the various levels of mechanical grip they can muster.

But when the track rubbers in, there is more 'free' grip available, meaning the cars that have an inferior aero package, should gain more of an advantage as the downforce levels are not having as much of an impact any more (ie, there is more natural grip to be found).

Does this make sense? Am I on the right path? Will RBR start to lose their advantage as the track rubbers in? Or is this all wishful thinking?

No, they will tend to maintain their advantage, as long as they can tune the car to use the grip.
