The Renault still had a hewland gearbox but it was a 5 speed LD200 not a mark 9. What makes you think the chassis is not for a hewland? Most chassis that new have no interface with the gearbox anyway?

Hi everyone I don't know how to put pictures on here?
the back end of my chassis is not able to have a hewland box going out the back as it has chassis frame going round back with supports between the upper and lower chassis rails, also the chassis plate is on the head rest which makes me think its been moved. did van diemen make any other types of cars which used a single seater chassis?

you need a MK2 XR2 engine and gearbox

To be honest it's not worth the hassle and expense of building it, even if you can find the parts.
