Yes, I read that. Is it the corner named ‘Arie Luyendijk bocht’?

It should be, after all he won the 500 twice and he holds the lap record, which he set in 1996, 37.895 sec (237.498 mph; 382.182 km/h).

I am unfamiliar with the Zandvoort circuit, but I assume suspension compression should not be a concern? I am guessing the largest amount of compression they see currently is at Eau Rouge just as you climb to Raidillon?

Have they started paving over Zandvoort's sand/gravel traps yet?
Few negative camber corners too.

Here's aerial shot of the track, taken from above Scheivlak and the run of areas look like sand.

Really nice photo BJ.

I was Hoping that Mr Tilke and asphalt monkey ltd don't get a chance to ruin yet another circuit, they were also very anti reverse camber corners.

Have to wonder why the barrier is reflexed on the entry to Scheivlak, it would have been more logical to just keep it going straight through.

I found this web site belonging to KWS the company undertaking the works before the GP.

https://www.kws.nl/nl/nieuws/detail/...-volkerwessels

From the pictures it seems that the tar runoff is restricted to the end of the main straight. They will also be reconstructing the pits, a new medical centre, the paddock, widening sections of the circuit and some pedestrian underpasses.
On the whole they seem to be sticking with the gravel sand runoffs - which is a very good idea in my opinion.

The circuit looks really good, one of the more exciting in the championship, setting up a car should be a good challenge.
It is going to be interesting to see how the Pirelli tyres stand up to the banking in turn 3 and the final corner, 18 degrees is a pretty steep bank for an F1 and should lead to very heavy loadings on the tyres.

Looks like they are keeping the gravel traps too.

Track length looks reasonable too? Has it been extended slightly or is that just the aerial impression?

I wondered that but think it’s an illusion? I’ve only raced there once but looks familiar.

It’s good to see money being spent on new infield / paddock access tunnels. Just hope they don’t flood if it rains heavily! Just think, one pedestrian tunnel at Silverstone was all that was needed when they spent that money on the new layout and Wing.....

the infield paddock in Zandvoort is not that big so they need to use some space on the outside of the track,so they can het all the support classes(F2,F3,Porsche cup) a place to setup. Also the track was always very narrow, F3 cars always struggled to overtake there.

My thought on seeing the new access, was more of the bumps over the tunnels that might form, as the sand base under and the top fill over the tunnel sections settle.

Piling. They would have either piled it or used something called vibroflotation.

Tell me about it! Will be interesting to find out what the support vehicle access tunnel clearance height(s) are. The area is well known for low bridge heights, which has meant access for some trucks in the past needed careful planning.
