(I watched via the NBC site.)

The commentators continue to annoy me. Did I mishear, or did they really call one of the Polos a Fiesta? Just, STFU please.

So many drivers took out that first corner. Kinda crazy. So many cars finished with really heavy bodywork damage, too.

I just watched the Charlotte race. Turn 1 was reasonable, but for for a three-wide grid. They should have just two files when the first corner is so narrow.

The rest of the track looked cool to race, with plenty of relatively fast esses. But it lacked clear overtaking sports.

It seemed like flat tyres played a big part in the results. I know the Hyundai use bead locks. Anyone know (or want to hazard a guess) as to why the other teams aren't using them?

I am surprised to say but the Beetle looks really great.

The Eklund Beetle sounds better but due to the bodywork looks cheap.

I am sure if it was that good OMSE, Hansen and others would use it too.

Standings after Daytona:

1. Nelson Piquet Jr. (SH Ford), 245
2. Ken Block (Hoonigan Ford), 205
3. Scott Speed (Volkswagen), 190
4. Joni Wiman (Olsbergs Ford), 188
5. Steve Arpin (OMSE2 Ford), 170
6. Patrik Sandell (Olsbergs Ford), 159
7. Sverre Isachsen (Subaru), 142
8. Tanner Foust (Volkswagen), 140
9. Bucky Lasek (Subaru), 130
10. Austin Dyne (Barracuda Ford), 114
11. Brian Deegan (Rockstar Ford), 85
12. Rhys Millen (Hyundai), 70

There's four full-time manufacturers: Ford, VW, Subaru and Hyundai.

Pat Moro's Chevrolet Sonic has been only part-time, that's bad news. Mini has been missing as well. Dodge left the championship.

I would love to see a Scion FR-S, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda 2/3 and Kia Rio/Ceed as well.

Travis Pastrana is going to be racing in LA. He'll be driving the #199 Subaru again.

Fully agreed. Having said that, the rounds I have seen this year haven't really excited me.

I will make an effort to try and catch the Seattle round: thus far that's easily been my fave GRC layout.

I'm really excited for the Seattle round. I never got to watch it live, but I've been hunting Youtube, and the clips make it look like a great track.

I hate the fact that the GRC tracks seem to encourage cars crashing into each other. I want to see the races come down to skill (and a bit of luck!) rather than who has the least broken car.

The Beetle is debuting at the LA race. http://media.vw.com/release/839/

Sounds like Tanner Foust will be driving it and Scott Speed with be in the Polo still.

So that's a pure Red Bull livery. Good news!

I see the circuit layout for Seattle has been released:

It looks very similar to the layout they ran last time the GRC was at DirtFish, though I'm glad to see they have chosen a different location for the start (and there is no silly gap jump this time).

I know its a massive gimmick, but glad to see they have retained the run through the building. My only concern is that this circuit was quite tight when they were running 6 cars, 10 cars could get very messy.

Finally a win for Subaru!

Bad luck for Block in the final (again), though I did see he has admitted it was his own fault. I'm not that fussed on the GRC this year, but would be nice to see Block take the Championship after being so consistently quick.

Having said that, Wiman is also a deserving Champion. In fact as long as Piquet Jnr. doesn't take the title I'll be happy!

I always thought Snoqualmie was the best GRC track and definitely was for this season. Great to race on something other than a parking lot and no first corner stupidity although the commentators do like talking about 'carnage' whenever they get the chance!

Block doesn't have much luck in winning titles. Rolled his car last year int he final round of Rally America that lost him the Championship. If Las Vegas is like last year then it will just depend on who Piquet decides to wipe out at the first corner.

Sadly, WRX is just head and shoulders above GRC. I watched the WRX in the morning and GRC in the afternoon and the depth of field, talent and obviously course (didn't think Italy was horrendous) are just miles apart.

GRC does have a very strong TV package here though. If someone would run some Audi's here it would make it interesting. Tough to run Citroen/Peugeot when they aren't sold here.

Interesting to read your comparison on GRC and the World Championship.

I'm still unable to put my finger on exactly why I've struggled to get into the GRC this year; I'm not sure if RallycrossRX/World Rallycross has got better, the GRC has got worse or its a mix of the two.

Am attempting to track down some footage of the racing but, as has been the story of the season, its bloody impossible to find.

Where did you get to watch it at? I'm normally pretty good at finding it but can't find a bit of it!

I really wanted to see this track too.

I did read something about drivers arguing... not sure what that was about and can't remember who was involved! I'll find the tweet.

I wish they'd spread the coverage out over all the cars in the race rather than just sticking on the leaders.
