We'll be having a damn good crack at the lap record in Teds Lambo with Simonsen....

And of course, the 1hr race is a high priority...

Loading our two Lotuses into the truck today. Really looking forward to getting back on the island. Hopefully I will get to drive in the dry this year.

Unfortunately, I "have to" play cricket on sunday (normally we play on saturdays, rarely on sundays). What is the schedule for saturday? Is there anything worth seeing?

Terrible conditions down @ PI - racing has been delayed until at least 3pm (after qualifying and only 1 race)

Yeah, I wanted to go, but chose not to because it looked like it was going to rain the whole day. I also thought the HQs at Winton next week would have better weather, take my chances it will.

Damn rain, only 1 flying lap for me in qualifying. I still had fun in the short race and looking forward to today's 1 hour race.

Much better today - dry so far (a little cold & windy)

Big crash in the Improved Production near turn 1 - delay while tyre wall is fixed up

If only Sandown and Phillip Island would put in concrete walls, so many delays would be avoided.............

As it turns out, I would've been better off turning up today. We got pounded in the field, have to chase 280/90 off 68 overs, of which the team expect me to carry the load.

Most enjoyable day today. Some good racing. Not to mention Simonsen giving the lap record a real touch up in the Lambo. Was absolutely flying.

As I understand it, the results are still not official????

There's some contention over numerous cars passing under Yellows.

But I THINK, we still win, by just half a second

Yes, it was a great sight to see the yellow peril flying so well. But the truth is we never really nailed set up what with the weather changes and some experimentation, and that new lap record (1.31.20) will do for now, but we're not satisfied yet...

It was set with half a tank of fuel and on average tyres with an "ok" set up...

Hossacks sports sedan record of 1.30.7 is well achievable, and sub 30 is the target.... but coulda woulda shoulda... didn't...

Barton Mawer had Angelos Lotus whistling down the straights... we couldn't pass it until the corners! Man that thing moves...

MASSIVE congrats to the Lotus crews, not sure of the upwash with penalties, but with regards to speed and reliability, the Lotii SMASHED those boring poached egg brigade out the park... no Porsches to be seen anywhere near the podium (subject to penalties unfortunately).

Knight and Kinglsey... pfffttt..... who are they again????

Kingsley is the one who set 3rd fastest time in a car he drove for the first time on Saturday in the wet. Knight is the clown he handed it over to in P1 at first safety car and tagged an mx5 at Honda. Sorry, who are you?

FF, whatever it is you're loading onto your hook, it seems to work ok... SS loves it ...... you're obviously a master-baiter.
Impressive sight, the Lambo, with a 30ft high rooster tail out the back on saturday arvo. Well done to Ted & Alan and crew.
It was a good weekend for the Lotus. We did have a few sad stories (me included) but to have three in the top five, is a credit to the teams involved. These cars are not bullet-proof (as history has shown) but perseverance and development on a number of fronts in various teams, has made these little cars able to punch well above their weight AND finish races up the front.

Prod Sports enduros have ALL been awesome this year. I'm looking forward to 2012 already, and hoping to finish at least one race next year!

TM.

Another great weekend with a great bunch of people. Simon and I spent the whole race pegged to the back of Jeff Bobik's car. Charging through the slower cars while dicing with a 911 is damn hard work but boy is it FUN!!!

I'll post up some video soon.

Thanks to everyone in the Prodsports race for clean driving and see you all next year.

Yeah what a weekend.

Our first trip to the Island and weather wise we pretty much experienced it all, dry, damp and very wet in the co-drivers qualifying session.

We had a good run in the #66 MX5 picking up a couple of spots on the first lap, before settling before chasing down the Class E leader. With a little bit of luck we took the class lead at the first safety car and I managed to bring the car home in 21st outright and 1st in class. I really only had one close call when Barton Mawer squeezed between myself and a Porsche Boxster that I was overtaking on the front straight at the time. I swear he missed both of us by inches but he obviously wasn't ready to lift off the gas whilst trying to chase down Alan. I'm editing some video highlights at the moment, so I'll post a link here once I've finished.

Overall though a very satisfying weekend. I had a great year and I'm very thankful for the opportunity to drive a few different cars this year. Hope to see you guys around next year.
