is it just for show on the HRT car at the launch or can they now use them?

if so they would look hot on the JD cars.

Unfortunately I reckon that's a display car.

I hope it isnt though. Those rear lights look way better than the standard ones. And they aren't expensive either.

I think you'll find if you visit your local Holden dealer in the coming weeks, they have updated the VE for 2009. Production starts this month on the new models. They would normally call them Series 2, but they decided to drop "Series" badge and go for "MY" (Model Year) spec's for the vehicles from about mid 2008.

I guess I'm the only one that prefers the standard red/white lenses. I think clear taillights look like something a chav puts on their car. On everything they come standard on.

SS-V tail lights have been standard on SS and SS-V since mid 2008, it was a factory change and probably to do with cost of producing two styles of tail lights, Im suprised HRT didnt do it last year. The VE has always been a MY car, upto MY9.5 atm and the new models are already driving around, AFM cars are out and about now...but Holden didnt put the badges on the car or switch AFM on

HRT had the SS-V lights on the ride car in '07 and '08 and won't be on the race cars.
The SS never had the SS-V lights.
Here's a '09 SS with standard lights.

That's correct. The SS still has those lights. SS-V rear lights are SS-V only. You can see it on the holden web site. And it does talk about the new models because you can now get AFM on them (mine didn't have that option).

2nd that, display cars don't have single nut hubs. They usually have standard road car 5 studders.

Nope, red lense or clear lense. No stickers on factory commodore lights, that would be highly non-viable.
