I wonder how many of them were Ferrari supporters before 2000?

*Goes on-topic*
I for one think it will be great to see TGF compete in this event, as I said in the other thread. It won't be in his usual milieu, and thus will be very exciting to see how he will fare. For that reason, the event should be attractive to both those who are and those who aren't fans of TGF. I only hope it will be televised properly at a station which I can receive. |

I agree R, it will be good to see him compete in anything other than F1. He is undoubtedly the master of that universe, and it will be interesting to see how he does outside his comfort zone...

According to teletext this morning Colin McRae is now confirmed for the race of champions. It should be a really good event, McRae vs Schumacher head to head, how good it that?
Just checked the website http://www.imp.mc/rocwebsite/index.htm - Coulthard is confirmed too Last edited by BertMk2; 30 Sep 2004 at 09:11. |

Was it last year or the year before that Marcus Grunholm and Jeff Gordon rolled, and then couldn't stop laughing.
Jeff certainly enjoyed himself as he's back for more. Thought Rossi may have played again this year. |

Just noticed Richard Burns' name on the entry list. Be good to see him out again.

Is anyone going, I'm going with my wife & kids. When I saw it first advertised in Autosport a while ago I checked my work roster & when I found I was off I thought it was to good an opportunity to miss & booked up. With all the names that are being added to the entry list it's going to be a fantastic event!

I will be heading there. Am looking forward to it so much. I've never been to Paris, so to go and be able to see something like this will be amazing!

Best in F1 vs. the Rest: MS goes head to head in identical equipment
Now this should be interesting! Any leads on who you think is gonna win?
Taken from the HDNet press release: ". . . The 17th annual Race of Champions - Nations Cup is an end-of-season international racing showdown featuring two unique individual and team competitions. First, in the Race of Champions, 16 of the world's best drivers compete in a series of head-to-head heats in identical cars to determine the individual "Champion of Champions." Then, in the Nations Cup the same drivers compete in national teams of two in a bid to determine "The World's Fastest Nation." Representing Team U.S.A., four-time NASCAR Champ Gordon and 14-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner Johnson will be looking to recapture the ROC Nations Cup, after claiming the first Cup ever for the U.S. in the 2002 competition. Team U.S.A. will be competing against the top European drivers including F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher for Germany, World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb for France, and F1 Grand Prix winner David Coulthard of Great Britain. . . In addition to Gordon and Johnson, Tony Kanaan and Sebastien Bourdais, champions of America's open-wheel race series IRL and Champ Car World Series, have recently joined the line-up and will be representing the Brazilian and French national teams." |

David Coulthard had recently gone on media, after testing a modena which he'd race, saying that given the kind of racings, it is unlikely a single-seater driver would beat the rally drivers.
Its all good fun to see what's going to happen. |

Under normal circumstances I would never root against MS, but for this event I'll be cheering hard for Team USA to recapture the title.
I like the fact that the oval guys do so well in these type of events, because they never seem to get much credit for being "real" race car drivers! The Race Of Champions will once again give them a chance to prove everyone wrong! |

Race of Champions: Dec 4th - website details posted
http://www.imp.mc/rocwebsite/index.htm
The site contains worldwide broadcast schedule information. The event is Dec. 4, and takes place in Paris. For US viewers, it looks like SPEEDTV will have a special covering the rebroadcast on Dec. 12th, but no details on timing for that show yet. HDNet TV will be broadcasting live from Paris on the 4th starting at 10:30am EST. If you don't own HDTV yet, good luck finding a bar owner with HDNet willing to offend his college football watching regulars! |

While not to its traditional rally format, lets move this to the Rally forum.
In addition there have been several threads on this already, so have a search too. There is a how will MS do in the F1 forum, which can stay there and hopefully get others into the Rally forum for the general discussion. Last edited by Adam43; 29 Nov 2004 at 23:05. |
