Fire extinguisher service
Hi, I've had my car scrutineered pre-season, and it turns out my fir extinguisher is out of date. It's in the gree, but I need it recertified. Does anyone know here I can get this done? how much it costs, etc?
Cheers, Dan |

No need Dan
If it's in the green it's OK. The date stuff is all a bit of a mystery. Try searching on here there was a thread running about it. |

They do (or should) have a service date on them ? At the end of the day if needed you can get them refilled by any approved extinguisher firm. Have a phone around otherwise you will get ripped off !

They dont need to be "in date" for ordinary club meetings in the UK. The 2 year rule is for FIA type meetings. They just need to be fully chraged and in the green area.

Well I've just had a text from my enginering team (ok, my Dad) saying fire extinguisher is sorted.
I guess he found someone at work to re-certify it. Thanks for all the advice though! I wish I'd come here before deciding my rain light didn't work as it didn't come on with the brakes, re-wiring it to act as a 3rd brake light, then having to put it back to how it was! Dan |
