SL should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Why does it seem to take an age to download the pages, especially if the page is "refreshed" This only seems to have been since the new year

It also comes up a lot of the time with an error message "cannot open page xxxxxxxx
server was reset"

Is it just my PC or the network ???

Best regards

Worried of Sussex

Same trouble here for the last couple of weeks, but seems to be intermittant. Couldn't load the forums at all a couple of hours ago, working fine now.

No problems at all here - as fast as ever What ISP do you use ? Can you do a traceroute and post it here when you're encountering these problems ? I can then ask Chris to look at this and decipher it to see exactly where the problem lies.

For me it is BT Internet.

I might be able to do a trace route if you tell me what it is and how I do it.

The error message has come up 10 - 12 time tonight alone.

BT Internet for me as well.
You'd have to let me know how to do a traceroute.

TraceRoute

TraceRoute is a small program that shows the route being taken from your PC to any specified machine, and how long each node along the journey is taking to respond. Hence we can see who to blame when things are slow.

For the PC / Windows world, start an MS-DOS Prompt, and type:

tracert tentenths.com

You'll get a delightfull screen full of times in Milliseconds, and will end up at a machine called ns1.accelerator.org. You if you copy and paste the results into a text file, and send them along, we'll let you know who to shout at!

I had this problem on Tuesday. It was extremely slow and had problems loading pages. And I don't use BT. It seems to happen about once every few months, I think it is my ISP as well as other people don't have the problem.
