10-Tenths rFactor League- Season 1 Preparations

OK- Time to get serious. It looks like the SCC mod will be the go for the inaugural TTRFL. Now we need to decide when we race, where we race, how long we race for, and rules for the race.

Keep in mind that marcus and I are 10 hours ahead of most of you Europeans, so try not to have the race at 3am in the morning for us .

Also, even if you don't have any suggestions, just post in this thread to let us know you're interested in competing.

I'm interested. In my opinion sprint races (10-15 laps) would be best. As for the tracks I'm easy as long as there announced a few weeks before we begin so I can download and try them. I think the time of the race is going to be the biggest issue.

Im in

Can I suggest that Round 1 be a non championship event so we can iron any bugs out of the system if we need to

When we race is going to be the sticking point but Im pretty happy to do it when best suites everyone.

firstly what kind of championship do we want to run ?
Everyone in the same class or have different classes ?
Do we want to allow driving aids of any kind ?
Full race rules ? or simple rules such as black flags and the like ?
If we run a full championship , how many rounds ? and what would the points system be like ?

what kind of tracks will we run on ? Im happy with a few add on tracks and a few ISI tracks like Mills or something (really like mills LOL)

what about race officiating ?
Will we allow restarts ?
have I raised more questions that given answers ?

but all are fairly valid questions I think.

but for now I have have Ten tenths League server up and running for SCC mod , so go practice and find a car you like (admin password is Marcus)

I race with TRM Racing Leagues and we use the following :
Forced cockpit view ( as you dont sit on the bumper to drive)
no aids
Auto clutch
full Flags
rFactor races that we run are 45 mins with either 30 min qualy or one shot qualy ( out lap + 1 hot lap then hit esc)
this keeps it real, but we have been labeled a hardcore league.

as for race days Tuesday is best for me, as for where may I suggest that you use some of the less known and used tracks, this will give a unique approach. But maybe a vote is better ie Grand Prix circuits, known GT circuits, smaller less well known,

you could run 2 x 10 lap sprints using 2 different tracks with 15 min practice for each with one shot qualy.

I think we've basically agreed to run the SCC mod.
Everyone would have to be in the same class to keep it even.
I think auto clutch and auto gears for those of us without a wheel would be suitable aids. After all, the real ALMS doesn't have Traction Control or ABS does it?
I think full race rules would be best, to give it some sort of realism.
Points system, tracks, race lengths are still up for discussion. I think two sprint races might be a good format, with the qualifying format deanowat1 suggested (1 hot lap).

One thing I do not want is forced driving view , if you want it you use it but I think we should have free driving view.

another server has been set up by a friend of mine called "Ten Tenths League SCC" have a go

Try a real mod (for men!), like GPC79. Much better physics, much better tracks (Interlagos and Buenos aires are super! )

ooh only discovered this.
I recently got a brand new computer so rfactor can be played properly!

I'd love to join if ok of course ,

Couple of questions
- Is it still on?
- when is it online etc? (or when does everyone else race?)
- If we're using the SCC mod and only 1 class, can it be any car from any year (01,02 or 03)? I love the Dome you see

Ok... Hello all,

The server is called "Ten-Tenths League SCC".

All 2001,02,03 cars from version 1.2 are used at the moment, I feel the slower class cars would be best for starting the league.
This way as people come in there not expected to handle the uber cars.

The way I see it if your fast with the GT1 based cars you should have no problem using the slower cars.

What do you all think?

Tracks are up for debate, I was thinking about using the 88gp season track pack.
This way everyone only has to download the one lot of tracks, and there will be no mismatches.

Rules:

Keep it clean!, think about your actions this is fun.

Don't cut corners, if you do yield. Don't get an advantage.

Pass as clean as possible, don't dive from 5 car lengths back.
If you out brake ourself and are going to hit another car in front, at least try to miss them.

Share your ideas, if you have a killer setup share it, you'll gain more respect.

Starts are always fun, you don't win on the first lap, so think ahead.

It's up to you how you act, act like a child and you get a free holiday.

Race time:

Due to players being from all over the world, we have to work out a time to race.

Race length:

15 laps, with a pit stop.

Full flags, rules.

auto shifting allowed
full TC ( to start with )
full ABS ( to start with )
no damage ( to start with )
auto clutch

for League races, the server will have a password ( yet to be determined )

Thank you.

The basics you've just set out sounds good. I think the biggest problem we have is that we have a lot of people from different time zones. Thats why the server hasnt seen much action yet. If we could organise a time just to get on the server together and have a go at somewhere like Essington. We could then chat there about how we go forward

Just been on the server and I'm getting "SCC_AS.rfm" mismatch. I know it allows mismatches but would like to get it sorted. Any ideas?

Is this what you are running on the server at the moment? As I find I dont have half the track running on the server. And by the time I install them its jumped to the next one.

Welcome to Ten Tenths Oldskool

The "RFM" mismatch I believe is a simple mismatch (Im not sure why you are getting it though) basically from what I have been told this is simply the file that allows you to create an offline championship (you against AI cars) but for some reason people get mismatches when they join an online game.

so basically the rfm mismatch is not an issue to us , if you would like to try an offline championship and see if you can this might actually confirm that for us

Im not sure what tracks Oldskool is running but check it out and have a practice because we should probably organize a fun day in a week or so to get the feel of everything

88GP Track pack:

http://files.filefront.com/Trackpack.../fileinfo.html

2003 addon:

http://www.mediafire.com/?2xlqm9vmkqe

1.2v Full download:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6ORLDZHK

This is what I downloaded to install on the server.

Nothing extra, if your still getting mismatches I honestly don't know.

I have just changed the tracks to the 88GP track pack only, this might help smooth things out a bit. (hopefully)

Once we get this sorted I think we can then start organising different tracks.

Great feed back guys, keep it coming.

Cheers

Due to the lack of interest, I have turned the server off..

I'll fire it up on weekends, from fridays to sundays. (Australian time)

If you want to have a get together on line to race please post your Game name, your T-T name, and the time which you would like to race.

The majority will rule..

I was thinking a saturday am or pm I don't care.

My Rfactor Name is also Oldskool.

Even if you really don't like the sports cars, join in.
Because once we get a few involved, we could alter things as needed.

Cheers
