In other (slightly related) news - no Trans Am at Mosport/CTMP this year. Too bad, I do enjoy that series. But I'll happily trade it for PWC GT. The first race weekend of the year at CTMP just got better.
If PWC GT will be at Lime Rock on U.S. Memorial Day weekend and Detroit a week later in 2016, I'm going to guess they won't be at Mosport the preceding week, as it would result in three consecutive weekends. If so, I hope they can arrange to headline their own event there later in the year.

Why not schedule two races for the finale weekend??? Seems so silly to cram 2 into sonoma with indy car and not do 2 at laguna on a stand alone weekend??

PWC finale weekend at Laguna is just another shared weekend with Indycar with the exception of the Indycars not being present - the full ladder to Indy is there, all of three series (USF2000, Pro Mazda and Indy Lights) having 2 races over the weekend each.

PWC has 1 GT(A)+Cup race, 1 GTS race and 3 TC races.

All that makes for a pretty full schedule.

Agreed, 2 GT(A) races (not necessarily with Cup) at the finale would have made more sense. Something to improve for next year then!

Laguna has begun......

......and it's still impossible to find the Sonoma races online.

I have been actively avoiding the series for nearly two weeks now in efforts to avoid spoilers. Enjoy that sponsors (although fully aware I'm not your key demographic!)...

Also, seems like something is brewing BoP-wise according to JD's Twitter feed.

Regardless, looking forward to watching the weekend races at whatever time they're on. The series has certainly made its own set of road bumps this year, but there's some great racing and a quality grid in there - combine it with a circuit like Laguna and I'm stoked.

They need to do more standalone events. Nothing says professional racing like renting a track and no one coming.

Big news: Bove out at PWC.
http://sportscar365.com/gt/world-cha...president-ceo/
This is interesting...
Quote:
"While Gill takes temporary control of PWC, there appears to be a number of strong candidates in position for Bove’s replacement.
Of note, former IndyCar president of competition and operations Derrick Walker was at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and spent time as a guest of WC Vision."

Venues are (almost all) great ones but 3 back-to-back events is a bit much and Detroit seems to be missing so far (although things have changed before).

And no word on the Sprint X thingy, is it still alive?

The resignation of Bove is a surprise and shows that PWC acknowledges their issues are growing above (haha, pun intended ) their head.

Miller is a possibility for the TBA

according to Greg, Sprint X is still coming.

This could be pretty cool!

Also of interest, it appears the top three PWC teams still get to race at Zandvoort.
Quote:
The Austin race is part of a link-up between SRO and the PWC, which will begin in October when the top three from the U.S. GT3 series are scheduled to take part in the Blancpain Sprint Series finale at Zandvoort.
The top three in drivers points are Johnny O, Beretta and Ryan Dalziel. It would be cool to see the Cadillac race in Europe. Also if Effort Racing were to make the trip, it would mean that we get to see the old 997 Porsche race one more time.
