I have a hammer similar to that in my shed....

Its just a slightly different colour

Why didnt someone borrow that poor bloke a hammer. I thought hillclimbing was all about camaradary. Maybee he was getting good times? lol

The bit I like is that it worked!

(That was at Bottom Ess Slip road, he aborted his run when his chain broke and jammed everything up.)

He was lent the screwdriver (WWII vintage) by one of the marshals, but asking everyone around, including the Burger bar, we were unable to obtain a hammer of the traditional variety, so Brian went all caveman and used the biggest rock he could find. The result was that the chain was succesfully un-jammed from the sprocket and he was able to take his later runs.

I'm assured that rumours that he constructed a new chain using pieces of fence and a home-made hand-axe are marginally wide of the mark...

Now if the Rescue unit had been parked in bottom 'S' we'd have been more than happy to help.
