Yes, you should be sorry! I was just saying, it was just a thought.

Has that always been the case? In the early to mid 90's , they would regularly broadcast races from State meetings at Amaroo etc which I would have thought were being funded by SBS through advertising, not by the class.

IMO the program has moved away from what made it successful. I record it each week and 80% of it is unwatchable. Looking at you Water skiing...

I would love to see Improved Production, State Sports Sedan races being televised by a low cost production. Some of the NSW categories got together and put a program together on Foxtel last year as a one off trial to be launch in 2011. Guess it never happened.

(Yes I know I am off topic)

Certainly is the case in the last few years. $8-10k per category amortized over 5-6 categories for a 20 minute package per category. 7-8 camera angles, staff and pre-production and editing. Free TV has gone the way of celebrating Xmas in schools and cracker night. So go easy on IPL...even if the Ted and Alan love-in could have been replaced with a few seconds more of racing.

that I can understand, however, as they seem to already have camera's there, what would be the deal with doing an online package? Youtube/Vimeo are not only free broadcasting media, but also opens up to a much larger audience.

Cameras aren't permanent, only there for the Shannons event. Race control have closed circuit permanent cameras, so yeah, maybe someone with the drive and nous could make something happen with these assets...not me, I'm just a dumb driver/ punter. But I would watch it...

Would a sponsor put a value on this larger audience?

guess it depends on the demographics of the intended market?

that said, it will be the way of the future.... (broadcast TV is slowly dying)

The Race Control cameras are there to allow Race Control to see what's going on (or spy on marshals if you believe the stories) and are not designed to following cars around the track.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm keen to get a couple of photos of our car from this event. Does anyone know which photographers attended?
