skaife2 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
V8 09

New v8 rules are rubbish why can't they just leave it alone.
it feels like nascar racing now.just about the whole field has 888 cars and WP.

the "can't beat them, join them" saying can definatly be applied in V8's.

The biggest joke of the year was the qualifying drama.

Cameron Levick came out after Adelaide and said under no circumstances would qualifying formats be reviewed before mid year & couldnt see it changing in 09.

A week later it changes and will likely change again.

The lack of anything happening on track at round 2 is also a concern

There was a time - not so long ago, that I made a bet with a friend of mine whilst we were standing at Forests Elbow on Thursday practice.

I said to him " I'll be you I can tell you which team car is coming by the engine noise". He looked at me and said, ok , not believing I could do it.

Now back then, there were a few Perkins customer cars that sounded the same, so of course , all I could say was "Perkins Engine" , but pretty much everyone else had a unique noise.

If you tried to do that these days, you'd have no idea - the only cars that sound different are the Kelly Commys which sound more like Mazda rotaries then V8's!

Who cares? They are cars driven by talented men. They race. Some crash, most don't and someone wins. It isn't difficult really.

I think the problem would be rectified if there wasn't as many street circuits. Apart from Adelaide, which is fairly wide and has a few passing opportunities, there are very limited overtaking opportunities on street circuits. I'm sure Winton will be a bit better.

They sound great, but I wouldn't liken them to rotaries.

Wow... rotaries in the country's premier motorracing series... A man can dream!

Winton and passing opportunities dont often get mentioned in the same sentence

New rules bad, old rules good. Ok, i get that.

What new rules are bad, and what old rules should not have been changed?

And what on earth has Triple 8 and WP got to do with the rules? Bearing in mind the best 09 Holden team is not a WP team.

They do by me Mick, there are plenty of places to overtake at Winton, people just have to good enough to do it.

I hope there is plenty of overtaking over the weekend. Otherwise I'm gonna look like an idiot...
