I think the reason for no badges is simply that the front bumper & grilles are a moulded all in one section and they maybe simply don't have a VW sticker to go on there!

No badges is not new. When Pirtek ran the Vectras they didn't have Vauxhall badges, I'm pretty certain the ex-Arena Focus' didn't when Motorbase originally ran them too.

Back to today... First time I've left a session before the end since I've been attending BTCC, but it was so cold and it was obvious the times weren't going to improve. Anyone else who's going tomorrow - seriously, wrap up! When the wind's not blowing and the sun's out it's ok, but when it clouded over...

The Passat looks absolutely great in the metal, with the exception of the gap where the bonnet meets the wing - though TOC did say they were having cooling issues so they could just be letting some heat out

They have (spoke to the team yesterday about just that), but Audi only officially backs teams which are prepared by Audi Sport.

Do the S2000 cars get a softer tyre too?

They don't - just the standard compound.

Anyone else hear Louise Jordan announce Wrathall's car as the Dynojet Honda? Had to rewind it as I didn't think they'd screw up the first pre-recorded section of the first race weekend of 2013...

Best thing about this season is the lack of Toby Moody as commentator. His commentary was pretty cringeworthy last season.

Anyone else see Jimothy announce Louise Jordan as the presenter

Quite a good race, was on edge when Austin was leading ahead of Plato, but he kept it clean. As for Jordans move though, what the hell was he thinking?

At least he did the right thing and apologised for it immediately. Have seen a fair few just brush those type of incidents off in the past...

I thought the reaction from both was brilliant
Not much happened, it was the last corner and we all know Plato would've done pretty much the same if he was in Jordan's spot there.

Has there been a replay of the start from Plato's view? I wonder if there was contact with Shedden or if he just lost it on his own like Cole did.
Nice race, welcome back Touringcars

Doesn't it seem its worth taking a gamble running the (quicker if you get track position?) softs in the second race if most people are truthful I'm saying they're holding back for the third race.

EDIT: Tordoff on the softs in 4th.

The boost is adjusted, but it applies to the driver, not the variety of car. Still don't agree they need to tamper with it, but at least it won't penalise somebody in the same sort of car combo as a frontrunner.

Wrathall's driving very impetuously today, not impressed at all. Your car is fast enough, so why try to go through people, rather than round them??

Driver of the day so far - Jeff Smith. Really solid and steady from him.

Disappointment of the day so far - the Fords. Something really strange going on there. No pace and reliability issues.

so the likes of Plato and Jordan will get boost reduction but not their team mates Turdoff and Smith ? and when , again after 2 rounds ?

They'll get boost increases and reductions individually yes. Not sure about the timescale. Much better than last year. Jeff Smith was getting penalised for Shedden and Neal's success.

So are they all on the same boost at the moment?

I agree about Wrathall, he was just too clumsy. I hope he gets penalised even though he retired.

And david Addison and Tim Harvey are fantastic, Toby moody had already driven me insane by this point last year.

I'm not sure if they're at the same base level or they're at a level calculated by some tests on the cylinder head like last year. It's all a secretive this year.

Good driving from Plato and the first two races do seem to indicate that the MG's will be hard to stop in this years championship

First adjustment happens after Donington based on results from first two rounds, after that it's based on a rolling 3 rounds.
