Best PSX rally sim?
Yeah, it's me again... So, what's the best rally sim for the PSX from a simulation standpoint? Physics, long stages, etc...
Colin and V-Rally 2 both sound pretty arcade-ish from the reviews. |

Can't go wrong with Colin Mcrae Rally 2 really, best rally game availble on that system by a mile. I don't know about you but I like games to be fun and when their too 'simy' they tend to get annoying. CM2 provides a good middle ground between sim and arcade.

Ah... What I really want from a game is to know there's a difference driving on dry tarmac, wet tarmac, dirt, gravel, mud, grass, ice and snow, and that requires you to actually have some talent to hold a car in four-wheel drift. I've heard differing opinions on whether Colin 2.0 car deliver that.
I'm much more skeptical of V-Rally 2... Electronic Arts has never built a realistic physics model, to my knowledge. |

You're right about V-Rally 2 not being up to much but trust me, CM2 is superb. And yes you are aware of the suface differances even when they change mid stage.

WRC II Extreme on the PS2 is looking ok. Don't know if it can topple ol' Col, but it's due in November and has a revised physics engine over WRC 1, which was ok, but IMO a tad *too* arcadey in the ol' handling stakes.
