Web consensus seems to be a Toyota Atlantic announcement, maybe an additional car. But he's also rumored to want to run ALMS next year, and possibly an additional Champ car. He could also announce that he and Danica are engaged, who knows anymore.

I would be thinking an ALMS meeting would be the place to make a ALMS announcement. I'd guess Atlantics. If it was a 2nd Champcar I'd have thought that news would have leaked. But who knows.

I think this is probably just to announce an ALMS team, perhaps in place of the IRL or Atlantic entires. He's been itnerested in teh series for years, and the announcement is indeed beign made at an ALMS event.

It was announced today that Jon Fogarty, last year's Toyota Atlantic Champion, will be racing for Team Rahal's Toyota Atlantic team, teaming with Danica Patrick. Fogarty will be sponsored by Norwalk Future. |

Good to see Fogarty back.
Yes, Fogarty is rich and was backed by his family throughout his carrer and when he clinched the Atlantics championship last year, but he is also quite talented. A boost to the series. He will eat Danica out (sorry, I am not the kind of politically correct guy; no pun was intended). If Bobby could only replace Danica by Sara Senske... Repeat after me: Sarah Senske! Sara Senske! Sara Senske! |

Rahal should have hired Sara to drive the other car, teamate to Danica. Then watch Sara be faster of the two. Would be hilarious.
 Good for Jon though. Too bad Norwalk wasn't going to put him in a second Champ Car...

I'm glad to see Fogarty back in a car. I couldn't see why he didn't have a ride this season. Hopefully this will lead to a ride in either Toyota Atlantic or Champ Cars for next year.

The deal for Fogarty is only for 2 races. I would assume this is mainly to try to teach Danica to drive, as he's been "driver coaching" this year while he seeks a full time ride.
This has been the ONLY thing announced by anybody this weekend. I haven't seen any VIPs anywhere. |

Great...so now Atlantics has become a feeder for...uh...Atlantics. Maybe Fogarty learned from last year that winning in Atlantics does not pay. But it will be fun to see Danica's reaction when Jon smokes her right out of the box.

Who was the last Atlantics driver to move to CART with any success? Also, the Indy paper is reporting that Buddy 'limp bizkit' Rice is about to lose his ride at cheeber.
