I have read that Chip Ganassi has offered Jimmy the ride that Kenny Irwin had, for next year. Supposedly, his stock car test went "real well" according to Chip, that was at a 3/4 mile track in Lakeland, Florida. But Scott Pruett's test at Darlington went well too last year at this time and look how much trouble he has had adjusting to Cup cars.

Personally, Chip is going to make the same mistake that Cal Wells did with Jimmy Vasser by sending him straight to the Cup level (that is if Jimmy accepts). I think Jimmy is a more talented ovals driver than Scott Pruett but Jimmy has had less closed wheel experience than what Scott did, only running in IROC one year if I remember correctly.

I can't for the life of me see what Jimmy has done wrong! And as an Australian, surely it makes good business sense for an American to be the mainstay between Europeans in an American team. Chip could, and has had the best of both worlds. Otherwise the Tracey/Franhitti dilema raises it's head.

Hang in there Jimmy.

Just what we need, another cart type running around the back of the pack and getting in the way of the racing in NASCAR! Wish he'd stick to open-wheel, indy-type car racing, which I hear now looks to be the case, cause it's been reported that he has obtained another cart ride, good!
