and on a topic that has already been out in the open for the past 2-3 months! Again, who didn't already know the T129 was using an all new AER twinturbo?
Or is the matter of simply presenting a finished vehicle to the public? Personally I find the empty announcements. Toyota returns, Ferrari returns, Nissan returns more interesting. |

The Kodewa Lotus or whatever it is they are calling themselves these days has been nothing short of failure.
Bring some level of seriousness to the program and I'll be interested. Anything less(current state of affairs)and I won't be bothered to notice. |

It takes time and money to make everything come together. First the engine switch. Then the crash test failure. Now they missed the homologation date and werent allowed to race. You can fault them for not being there but you can't fault them for not trying.

Let alone one that has been known for a long time. Autosport does say "and will be shown as scheduled during the week leading up to the Le Mans 24 Hours on June 14/15".

I'm not asking for a finished, race winning, fully developed car...bring a well built, safe, ready to go car..when you are ready to do that. Rushing to make homologation will only result in what we've seen here. |

This announcement should be big enough to force Nissan to advance their presentation before the 24 hours of Le Mans.
...and a LMP1 from Nissan is really big |

You can maximize your attendance in those days. Porsche had a problem with the excessive number of news filtered, it was impossible for them delay the announcement. ...and Toyota is Toyota. |

Wasn't it supposed to be first announced at Silverstone? So it was more like delayed instead of advanced.

Nissan actually announced the G56 in February, 2013, in Japan. They only showed a "show car" at LM'13, because you are right, you maximize attendance. When you have nothing to show, attendance is not very important.
As Andy Palmer mentioned, 23 May in Japanese is pronounced along the lines of Nii-San-Go, so that was the reason they chose that date. And aren't they glad to do so, looking at what's coming in the horizon |

Thats not the reason. Nissan announced it on the 23rd of May. Ni, San is 2, 3. Nissan's lucky number is 23. 2+3 is 5; the 5th month is May.

May - 五月 (gogatsu)
Thus, May 23 = Go Ni San, Go Nissan! |

It was an attempt at humor Im not the superstitous type so these special numbers and dates are silly to me.

But Nissan are. In all seriousness 2 and 3 translate to Nissan in the Japanese language. They actually take this quite seriously. Really. One of their Super GT entries is numbered 23 for that exact same reason. |
