VSCC POMEROY TROPHY
Hardy Bunch, the VSCC. This, the traditional season starter for them, while most racing folk are still in thermals and woolly hat.....

I have had an Email that the POM moves from the National circuit to the Full GP circuit.
dunno why.... I am sure that some entrants with modern cars will relish the chance to race on the Full GP circuit. I mean to bring my 1915 Stutz, but I would feel silly on the GP circuit so I might skip it on the other hand: The VSCC are certainly right to drop the minimum displacement requirement to get more cars in. Especially in todays world of downsizes engines RuE |

I feel so sorry for you having nothing but an old Stutz to use in the POM, such a shame you do not have something more suitable. If you are not there you will be missed, Bauble. |

any Idea what time this starts, I'm planning to come along to watch and take a few photos before my marshaling season starts at Goodwood in a few weeks time, if its going to be a long day I may throw my overalls in the back of the car and help out later in the day (when my camera battery has run out!!)

A tad cold and foggy this morning, cold and brighter in the afternoon.
No idea what was going on before lunch but the 3 races in the afternoon were entertaining. Good run through the field to win for the blue Healey in the final one. |

Test E is not a race and the finishing order is not too relevant. What was going on in the morning was critical - the event is/was won in Test A and lost in Test B with Test C/D confirming the honour Have I made it even less clear? |

I appear to caught the sun after a day at Silverstone.
Lots of pictures to sort out including a couple of 'moments' at Copse. Chatting to a couple of the drivers at the back of the queue at the start when the officials came along with assorted measuring implements checking the 'distance from pedals to back axle' or some such, and were a little perplexed by the mid-engine configuration of the Ferrari. Jen Lees wandering around with a large wooden suitcase, that she would endeavour to fit into each and every car, also proved a clue as to how the final result is decided, although where on the Thunderbug any luggage would fit is a complete mystery. The true secret of the Pom is simply to enjoy the cars (enormous variety), the company (universally good natured), the 'racing' (invariably exciting), and the atmosphere (unique). The winner? Quite frankly I doubt many of us would consider touring the continent with it a sound idea whatever it is. Thank you VSCC for another memorable day out. Roll on Spring Start. |

Yes, thanks BG. I love the detail of the gearbox grille. Very useful as far as uncommon cars are concerned…
Bob, I think that one part of historic racing should be inspired by this model. Considering my country, it seems its not written in tomorrow's agenda ! |

First time in the Pom, what a splendid experience. Thanks to VSCC and the hardy souls in orange who braved the freezing fog in the morning to make it happen.
