BRC Live on TV
LIVE BRITISH RALLYCROSS
Motors TV’s coverage of the British Rallycross Championship moves up a gear in August as the ‘High Speed Television’ channel brings live coverage of round 5 of the 2009 season from Lydden Hill. Fans old enough to remember the Ford RS200s and Metro 6R4s of the championship’s hey-day will be delighted to know that they’re still a popular choice in the category twenty years on alongside more modern day WRC machinery. The series has enjoyed a renaissance over the past few years as fans flock to circuits across the UK to enjoy all manner of machinery screaming their way between tyre barriers and mud banks on the asphalt/gravel tracks of Great Britain. Don’t miss out on the thrilling live action as Motors TV continues its commitment to bringing the Best of British Motorsport to your livingroom! Round 5, Lydden Hill - Monday 31 August from 1pm to 5pm |

sensational news! I hope they do it justice! Hopefully this will attract fantastic entries to really show rallycross in the best light.
Next step... Grandstand; Lynam and Walker again! |

Wow this is stunning news. I wonder if this means the BTRDA classes will get some coverage, ..... or maybe the BTRDA races will be run during the ad breaks
I think you have to go back even further than Des Lynam as Grandstand fontman, when live rallycross was last shown on terrestrial TV. I think it would be the days of David Coleman & Frank Bough, and Dickie Davis on ITV's World Of Sport. |

well, hopefully if they come over for event on Sunday, they will stick around for Monday. Hopefully some sort of incentive/concession can be deployed to encourage this!

Here's hoping De Keersmaecker Comes across the water for this event? quoted elsewhere saying that with the ex Linus Norkas/Jernberg Focus he will be doing a few of the remaining ERC rounds and two rounds of the Belguim national series at Massmechelen maybe he might be tempted to venture across to Lydden to experiance the track in a Div1 spec car ahead of 2010 ERC Round!

Is the Sunday only the afternoon? (has the noise restriction been lifted for this event?)
Lots of questions I'm really looking forward to this - some of the cars from the Belgian championship look very good, it'll be great if some stick around for the Monday too. |

My betting is on it being in the afternoon only. I can't even recall the last time there was racing on a Sunday morning and I can't see the council giving a one-time exemption as they would be too concerned it would set a precident.

Just checked out the Motors TV website and i see that the LIVE coverage will now run from 2pm until 6pm, which i assume will definately include all the finals!!
Great news for all BRC and BTRDA competitors and i know BTRDA 2nd and 3rd heats will definately be covered and i assume the final will also be as the event runs till 6pm. Great news for all those involved, lets hope we put on a show and beat a few Belgians along the way! |
