Ive been watching the races too and I've got to say that it was quite simply fantastic. Ive only really followed the BTCC since 2000 and I've got to say the old STCC cars are hands down better than what we are seeing at the moment. That said, the WTCC and BTCC cars are around the same sort of pace lap time wise these days, they werent at the start of the super 2000 regulations of course, but now...

I was around during the whole of the Super Touring era and previous to that and IMO it was no better than what we have now in terms of racing, it was just we had more manafacturers.

In fact I woukd say the actual racing in the BTCC these last coulpe of years has been alot closer at the front albeit with the aid of reverse grids etc.

Certainly the WTCC compares very favourably and IMO is far superior to any Super Touring race that I ever witnessed! Roll on Brands WTCC this year!!!

I was sitting down expecting to see the spectacular crash involving the Peugeot and Radisich's Mondeo at Brands, but it was never shown. I'm not thinking of another year am I ?

Note a thing Cleland said, did they really have 9 Restarts that race weekend for 2 races? That must be some sort of record ?

You've got the right year touringlegend, that happened in 1995.

It was the same race meeting where Cleland had his big crash at paddock and with it being about his championship winning season i thought they might have shown it.

1995 was a great year... I'll spare my long winded nostalgia, but that was an amazing year, not just because JC won it!

It's not. It's Hay Fisher's version of BHP's coverage which went out on Sky Sports back then. I remember it well.
