So they have let the cat out of the bag at last. Traction control has been consistently used by some teams since it was banned in 1993.
What a surprise!
What a kop out by the FIA, innstead of just changing the rules to prevent hydraulic control of the throttle they just let everyone have it instead.
Why not just let the drivers use cables and linkages like the good old days. Whimsical stuff I know but I can't help feeling that the rulemakers have been forced to allow something that they do not understand.
Anybody knows that it would be easy to manipulate the throttle openings using a fly by wire throttle. Just tell the ECU that at the start even if the driver uses 100% throttle the engine will only allow 50% throttle to be used.
They have admitted that teams used TC in 99 and of the big two Ferrari seemed happier about the news over McLaren.
