Scorchess has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
After being at Spa this year I'll have to convince my travel partner that Le Mans is even better (we both absolutely loved Spa and had a much better time than any other racing even we've been to).

Pilgrimage should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
At the moment my 30th is in doubt due to potential personal reasons, but if I can make it then absolutely I will be there...

Le Mans attendances:

1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 (4)
1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998 (7)
2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 (10)
2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 (8)

Total to 2017 = 29

Hoping to start organising trip number 8 soon. Need to sort out of a couple of details and might have to do it slightly differently this year - but I'll be there all being well.

My son and I are considering going to next year's event, which will be a first for both of us.

Can anyone suggest, or better still, recommend any local gtes or similar local to Le Mans. Son would be happy camping, but I'm afraid it really isn't my thing, especially as we are thinking about making it a long weekend.

Well normally i would say you are 6 months to late for anything close by but due to the situation you may be lucky and get a cancellation. However i think Gites etc will usually have been booked by now and also chances of long weekend period are almost non existant as they will usually be booked from the weekend before rather than a day or to before the race. Do not worry about camping the days of old are long past, the better campsites are clean tidy and the facilities are better each year, modern camping equipement includes fold up beds, large easy to erect tents comfortable chairs and if you book the private campsites meals cooked for you.
