Rick Kelly... Mouthing off again??

Will Rick Kelly ever grow up and learn how to be a little gracious ... or even sensible?

His reply to Lowndes saying if they (MB and Silly) have a bad weekend, 888be right back up there - "If he says that, its because he's going to cause it ..."

What, like Phillip Island, Rick?

Stay with the Tool team, its appropriate.

Senna05 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Wow... thats remarkably stupid.

You know, maybe it's from growing up in the later Brock-era, but I've never gotten into this whole Polarised fan thing. PR is essential in this game, but wouldnt a "Well, it's unlikely these Holden beasts will break" have sounded better than "Well, the ford guys are going to have to bash us off to win" statement?

Rick is undeniably a fast driver, but it reminds me of the mid-90's Williams F1 Vehicles. Yes, Damon won in 96, but I think Murray Walker could have won with that car - same with Rick and the HSVDT car. But his statements are VERY poor and put him in a bad light. It's almost as if the glass if half empty all the time.

Someone mentioned a while ago that these guys have been to the Mark Skaife school of PR. Well, you cant deny that he has shifted his sentiments over the past 3 years (as evidenced by the more humble victory speech at EC) and perhaps Rick can look at that and use it as a model for progression?

Poor form indeed...

I 100% agree Billy but on the other side of the coin... his Brother Todd seems to always be polite and well spoken IMO

Some people should have their tongues removed. Rick Kelly is one of them. Every time he opens his mouth he sounds like a goose. I would have thought Tom would realise this and put a sock in his mouth.

Don't forget , Uncle tom came out some years ago and fine tuned the arrogant nature of HRT, it has now spread to HSV. You only have to look who the master is.

Could it be that he meant it as in "if we have a bad weekend its because a Ford might win!" SHOCK GOLLY ZOMG!!!!! No no no, surely he was spouting off again and not making a decent statement!(Oh and thats right, Ford is at SUCH a disadvantage that they cant actually win a race, wait, no? The dates from the 23rd to the 25th need to be erased for that to be true)

Written in short like that it looks bad, its hard to say what was being implied when its written in text.

It may be a case of having to be to have a hope of following in Todd's footsteps.

In an unrelated-to-motorsport business, I know two brothers. The older one everyone wants to know and deal with, and the younger one.....well, if we really have to...and even then only if older brother's voicemail is full or PA is busy.

Rick and Todd may be no different. One may be gifted, and the other may have been gifted everything necessary to achieve too

Rather than say the child went to the MS school of PR, it should be asked why didn't he go to the same school as Toddler. Or if he did, why wasn't he failed?

He has always talked like a child, and i'm not just talking about his voice breaking. I think winning last year (not taking the dubiousness of the method into account) mentally did him more harm than good.

"If he says that, it's only because he's going to cause it," Kelly said.

"We're not going to have a bad round unless it's through our own fault."

These two lines seem to contradict each other...... I'm confused.....

What is he saying? That Lowndes is going to punt him off? Or that if they have a bad run it will because HSVDT make their own mistake?

What is clear, is that what Rick is doing has worked so far, and if he continues to do it, he will be 07 Champ.

i think Rick is a good driver, but he needs to cut out the silly comment, have a joke with your team and say that but don't announce it publicly it makes you look like a fool and have no respect, take a leaf out of big Bro's book be polite and say the right things not silly stuff, i like Todd better than Rick out of the 2 bro's i would like to see Todd win the Championship.
