Looks good and plays well. Its really hard to run with the leaders though, even on easiest mode.

I've got it, looks decent and plays decent but it's lame as hell.
Never thought oval racing was this boring. |

I have it and played it and have to agree wit ASCII Man.Once you play one whole lap race it gets boring because all the tracks are basically oval.If your an Indy car fan then its quite a good game.

I have the game, and love it. You can have some really great wheel-to-wheel races in it. I can defo recommend it

In a list, i would place the Indycar game just below F1 Career Challenge.
Yes, i hate it that much. Last edited by ASCII Man; 29 Aug 2003 at 21:51. |

Asphalt racing games...I wish it's September 19th already: Colin McRae Rally 4 is published in Europe on that day.

I played a demo of CMR4 and I am not convinced. Ok the graphics are great but I the control of cars in WRC2 is better. But I heard/read also stories that CMR4 is a great game.
About oval racing, I hope Nascar Thunder 2003 (PS2) will be availible in Europe. I think that game is much more spectaculair that Indy Racing. |

Now, when EA losing F1 license, maybe they will. And I DO know, that the Thunder series are probably the best EA racers ever. |

EA have already lost the F1 license. I is exclusive to Sony for the next 4 seaons starting with F1 2003. That's why there was no 2003 F1 game from them this year.

It's F1, yes, but it's crappy that there's no computer F1 game...

This is British site, so probably they're euro releases, here it says the release date of Thunder as 26th of September, so we'll see.

Well, if they're doing a PAL version, it would be stupid not to sell it in all countries using PAL system.

Man....I must have Andretti luck or somthing. EVERY time I try a full length Indy 500, whatever the game, something always goes wrong! I did one today...my fourth attempt at a Indy 500 (me second in this game) only 16 of the 33 cars finished. I was 16th, after starting on pole!
Might try another before the GP tommorow... |

well I decided to hire the game today for PS2 i wanted he PC version but they didnt have it so i settled for PS2.
at first i thought this is terrible , i could drive the thing straight or even run with anybody. so i turned it off , came back an hour or so later and tried again and i can now say i can at least drive in a straight line , it takes some doing but I worked it out , still cant quite have a decnt race with anyone but im still working it out (only had it for 4 hours so far I hope the PC version is better than the PS2 version because im not really convinced with as yet. |

It took me a little while to get get used to the controls, but now I can pull off moves Sam Hornish himself would be proud of
Stick with it marcus, once you get used to it it's one helluva game By the way, once I got my new PC I downloaded the PC demo (just to compare the two versions) and there isn't really much difference. PC's graphics are a bit sharper, but PS2's has smoother movement - otherwise they are pretty much the same. |

I think i'll buy it for the pc.
Maybe that drives a bit better with my MOMO Force rather than with the PS2 controller. |

Is a really good game, probably the best one in wheel to wheel and realism, but you need to know a lot of oval racing to enjoy it, is all about set-up and race strategy. The pit stops are essential and you need to think a lot to win it. I rate it very high, but if you are a Gran turismo fan you wont like it. Is a bout atrategy, not about graphics and sound (even do the crashes are great)
