According to Motorsport Magazin, Mercedes wants to seal their 2016 DTM roster by sunday.

They did do night qualifying in 2003 at the Nurburgring and it was supposed to be great entertainment. That said they shouldn't concentrate on floodlighting the whole circuit. They should do it like the BTCC, have it lit some places, let the car's lights do the rest

Agreed - if you're going to floodlight the whole circuit just run in daytime - what's the point of a night race that's not actually in the dark?

I'm not so sure - there's a serious conflict of interests there. Paffet has signed as Williams simulator driver for this year - no conflict of interest there as Williams are Mercedes powered. Paffet left McLaren when they got the Honda engines so I can't see Ocon being allowed to race in a Renault powered F1 car and then drive a Mercedes in DTM.

According to various sources Ocon has been put on loan to Renault by Mercedes.

From this point of view i can see Ocon having both caps.

F1 has a night race so it would be logical if DTM has also a night race.

Norisring would be ideal for a night race. The track isn't too large, too complex, so you won't need that many floodlights at the track. Besides, a saturday evening race would be good for publicity and ratings.

Do you have new information? Last I heard, Wehrlein's chances of an F1 seat were looking slim.
