My guest will only be coming on race day. Will their ticket / wristband get them into the car park or do I need to request a parking pass for them? If so, who do I contact?

You need to request an additional campsite pass for them. Phone Penny Deal or one of her team at the MSA, just ring the main MSA number.

The Generators will (probably!) only be 110v, safer than doing your hair at home!

A general question, how popular is the GP for marshals, is the event over subscribed or not.

I love GP`s and will be going as a spectator, mainly because I like to take pics and just wander about and soak up the atmosphere, but am more than likely going to put my name down for next year.

Just make sure that you get your volunteering sheet returned in time and you'll be accepted (as long as your not a trainee)

manning is fine at the GP, not under or over subscribed, you got to try it for yourself, if I listened to most people, and some that have never been there, then I'd have never done it and had a great time, There are far worse meetings to Marshal at!

Just remember to take a good book......War and Peace, Homers Illiad, anything long......as there's lots of time on the bank with nothing happening.

IMHO it's not a popular as it was...

In the 'bad-old-days' certain disciplines were (heavily) over-subscribed, and chiefs could pick very experienced marshals, and it wasn't unknown for marshals to have to wait a few years before being accepted.

Now-a-days it appears as soon as you pass out as a trainee, you are in the GP the first year you can.

Now, whether this is because less marshals apply, or because there are less marshals to apply I don't know...

Up to last year I think the latter applies. But this years numbers on the bank are on the up, so future GP's may be over-subscribed.
