Well are BMP going to relax the rules and let the Ford might run with the Focus?
or Are are they going to be strict but bloody stupid like the WRC crew? and let them run with extended chins and arses? Menu was quoted as saying 'The larger bumpers on the front are a great idea, it means I can push more people of with less damage to my car'. Reid also gave the thumbs up to the idea and and agreed with Menu, he also believes this will give him a better chance of winning races. (More like the only way). |

Is it possible than to use a rally car as a basis for a circuit car??
I am no expert but it seem to me that there are some fundamentel differences between the two. And with all the fixed parts they have to use, gearboxes and so on, what would be the use of building the car on a WRC basis?? |

With all the chopping and changing that would be required, they'd be way better off simply building new cars from scratch. Menu's reasoning, however, does not in the least surprise me...

Naturally, the suspension, transmission will be stronger or different in the WRC for example. It will be interesting to ask the manufacturers that question. Enginewise? They should be able to share a similar engine as well? The WRC will be turbocharged I think though? With the Astra, the engines will be different. |
