DNQ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Best Circuits in CART?

What are your favourite venues in the Champ Car World Series? Obviously there are going to be a lot of "Road America" answers, so please provide a list of your 'top five.' Mine are:

Road America - With Spa out of F1, I consider this the 'crown' of open wheel racing.
Surfers Paradise - 'Home' Champ Car track for me.
Mid Ohio - Very nice undulating course.
Fontana - Not a big oval fan, but I like the Super Speedways .
Mexico City - I'd love to see the Peraltada in all it's glory, but as it stands, still magnificent.

Laguna Seca, Lausitz and Long Beach just miss out my top give.

As for the worst, it's got to be Denver, with Miama up there. Brands Indy churned out a very dull race, but at least it's a nice, flowing, rolling course.

Road America, Laguna Seca, Surfers', Mexico City and (theoretically) Brands Indy would be my top 5. Lausitz and Fontana provide great oval racing too, and Long Beach is great for a street track.

I like the Toronto course as well. Despite it being fairly narrow, it's very challenging with both high speed turns, low speed turns and two, maybe three places to pass.

Mexico City with the baseball stadium and the Mickey-Mouse section cutting off the hairpin just doesn't do it for me.

On a not-totally-unrelated note, Gordon Kirby seems to have some ideas on where CART _should_ be racing.

Road America, Burke Lakefront, Fontana and Germany.

Laguna is a beautiful venue, but ChampCars seldom seem to put on a great show there anymore. Likewise Mid-Ohio.

But since this series is becoming increasingly street-oriented, I guess I should pick out a couple of favourites from that category, too. So I'll go with Australia and St.Petes.

Road America - It's awesome and it's where I learned to drive a race car.
Cleveland - Nice and wide with lots of overtaking.
Laguna Seca - The corkscrew is just fantastic.
Mid Ohio - a couple of nice long straightaways with good breaking zones at the end and some cool elevation changes
Surfer's Paradise - best street course on the circuit, love to see the guys hopping the curbs

Montreal has to be one of the better ones for fans to attend. Beautiful circuit, tons of trees and green spaces, a number of great places to see the cars with just general admission (unlike the Grand Prix) and lots of shady places to sit down and have lunch. Just bring your walking shoes... Excersise is a good thing!

I don't know if the montreal track is that interesting though...a bunch of chicanes and hairpins... still, I never mind driving it in GP3.

Cleveland (I was at the first eight races there)

Mid Ohio (great viewing areas from what I remember ten years ago)

Milwaukee (lets hope it's better this year)

St. Pete (It's one of the best street courses around)

Portland (great track, it would be so much better without those stupid festival curves, too many pointless accidents)

In no particular order:

Cleveland - Always produces great racing

Long Beach - Jewel in the CART crown

Road America - Eat your heart out. Brilliant!

Lausitz - Both races there have been great.

Fontana - Usually produces some great oval racing.

Also up there are Mid-Ohio and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

and, if you want more than five... Laguna Seca, Long Beach, Surfer's Paradise, Lausitzring, Monterrey, Mexico City, Portland, Mid-Ohio, Milwaukee, and Vancouver (cause it's my "home race, though I know many of you despise this course)

Yeah, so pretty much all of them. There's a lot of GREAT tracks in CART, and I think we forget that a lot of the time. I don't really care for Denver though...

I love that super wide hairpin in Denver. If they could smooth the circuit out some, it'd be alright.
