Its a pretty exciting calendar - funny thing is that for '09 it was the Phillip Island ASBK Championship...for 2010 it is QR ASBK Championship. But that can only be a good thing for me. I actually upgraded my photographic equipment because of this for 2010...

Also surprised that there is no MotoGP support.

Very much looking forward to Aprillia and Ducati joining the field - the Japanese makes would be silly to walk away from the Championship - particularly now that it is gaining in momentum.

I think there may be MotoGP support, but it would be a non championship event.

There is also a round for the support classes only at Broadford in July.

Yes, there is too... Yamaha have confirmed they will only enter Superstock 1000 (A grade) & Supersport - no factory Superbike, tho the Superstock 1000 (A grade) class will run with the Superbikes

Could be a chance that Kawasaki race if a sponsor is found. Dave "radar" Cullen who used to run the factory Yamaha team is the candidate to run the team - fingers crossed...

At this stage of the year, the championship looks very promising...

There are very strong rumours going around that 2008 Champion Glenn Allerton has signed to ride for KTM along side Shannon Johnson

The Allerton stuff is a little confusing as he has not signed to ride with the team, but is being managed by them; ie, they are trying to find him a ride.

As for the calander, it sucks the big one!

Ducati have confirmed they will enter the ASBK for the first time in 10 years - Motologic Racing who have run Honda's for the last 2 years including winning the 2008 title will run the 1198's... No riders have been confirmed yet, though one is expected to be Jamie Stauffer...

Are the Trinders officially running in the Superbike class ? I heard they were running Aprilias in Superstock with Chris Trounson, but there was only speculation of a Superbike entry with Dan Stauffer.

CJC have officially dispensed with their Hondas and are about to announce a factory European supplier for Craig Coxhell. MV Agusta perhaps ?

Also read the GAS Honda Dealers Team will be running Allerton and Maxwell in privateer Fireblades.

Think Trinder Brothers are running 1 Aprilia SBK & 1 STK.... Heard that rumour about GAS Honda Dealer Team - think Motologic last season had no factory support from Honda , so they should be competitve.... Be great if Coxhell & CJC hooked up with MV Augusta too

Seems very promising at this stage the ASBK for 2010....

Trinders confirm 1 SBK and 1 STK entry with Aprillia.

CJC have also denied MV Agusta. That really only leaves BMW if in fact they are going with a European marque.

AARK racing will be fielding a Triumph in Supersport for Christian Casella.

Gotta love the variety this year !

Yamaha are pulling Staring, Medcalf & Olson out of ASBK & entering them in FX - Yamaha used to have naming rights for the FX Championship (and did dominate it with no competition)... Good riddance - sooks!

Bryan Staring has quit Yamaha & joined a new Honda Superbike Team which is sponsored by the same mob that run the series
Kevin Curtain has replaced Staring at the factory Yamaha team

Round 1 of the rival Australian Formula Xtreme Championship was run over the weekend at Wakefield Park - The factory Yamaha team winning 12 from 12 races entered, sounds challenging for them
Kevin Curtain won 11 races & his team-mate Rick Olson the other. Hopefully the other riders can mix it with the "factory team" in the future rounds...

FX 1000 Points...

Kevin Curtain - 150
Glenn Cullen - 118
Dustin Goldsmith - 116
Patrick Medcalf - 95
Grant Hay - 86

FX 600 Points...

Kevin Curtain - 147
Rick Olson - 135
Jesse Austin - 112
Daniel Falzon - 108
Lachie Thomas - 103

*** Next FX round is at Winton in June - i will be going & will try & get some good foto's!
