To be honest, I think the messing around between the three will confuse everyone and is not the way forward, but maybe, properly done for next year, it's the only way forward. |

I agree, it does almost seem to add to the problem - now there are three titles to fight for between the 'premier' F3 series where previously there were two.

Actually there seems to be four if you include the British one which has european rounds and lots of foreign drivers?

I think he means the British, European and Euroseries, seeing F3 Open as a notch below, and then also the German and Italian series which run for older cars.

I think most would regard the 'premier' F3 series as British F3 and the F3 Euro Series, and now we have the FIA championship to be awarded on top of those. With GP3 as well, and usually a couple of reasonable drivers doing "F2" (still uncomfortable calling it that!), it's harder than ever to gauge which drivers are the best at this level. Not a criticism, but EF3O, German F3 Cup, Italian F3 are obviously not at those series' level for strength/depth of talent. |

They are very important to develop local talent. If I were a GT team owner, I'd pick a F3 graduate over a Clio Cup driver. |

Possbly not German and Italian, but the F3 Open easily has as good a driver quality as British and Euroseries this term and with bigger gridss

Actually, with the way motorsport currently works you'd choose the driver who could provide you with the necessary budget . However, I agree with your sentiment. And also, it is likely that most F3 drivers have significantly better access to required budgets than, say, a Clio Cup driver anyway.

Didn't mean to start that debate again! I certainly agree about the grid sizes. But as good driver quality? Seriously? Gianmarco Raimondo was a backmarker in F3ES, now he's 2nd in the points in EF3O... I think that says a lot.

Wow, I don't think I've seen a championship finale any weirder than that...
Rain falling down right after the green lights, when everyone is on slicks. Schiro and Raimondo are side-by-side at T1, Schiro gets in front. Then big melee at T3, in which Raimondo picks up suspension damage. Then Schiro runs wide a few seconds later in sector 2. Schiro and Raimondo re-join at the pack of the pack, but after a Safety car and a few laps of racing, they climb up to 4th and 6th respectively. Then at 2 minutes to go, Raimondo dives into the pits for no apparent reason. He stops a few seconds at his box, and after a quick inspection on the front right corner, the team orders him to go back out. Raimondo then has to stop in the middle of the track, at the very last corner of the last lap. Unbelievably, Schiro hits him, then limps to the line on 3 wheels, to take 4th position... Big confusion on who is the champion afterwards, because of the dropped scores. Schiro's family and the graphics team think Schiro is the champion. You can't make that stuff up can you... Facu Regalia won the last 2 races for Campos, by the way. |

Schiro should be disqualified for hitting Raimondo's stationary car under yellow flags.

Good effort for Jones P2 and fastest lap on his series debut. Raimondo should be banned forever.

What happened to Raimondo anyway, why did he stop in the middle of the track...? I don't get it. |

Well done Facu winning last 2 races!
And 3 out of the last 5 races of the championship. Good finish for a season that started very complicated for him. |

Do we know why Raimondo pitted with 2 mins to go? Seems like a bizzare decision.
