Charles Warner should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Location of Shadow DN9-B cars

Don Nichols (of Shadow) and I are trying to locate all existing (running or not) Shadow DN9-B F1 cars as raced in 1979. If anyone has any information that can lead to finding all of these cars please email.

Thanks

Can't say that I do, but I'm glad Nichols is still interested and I wish you two all the luck. As a former Shadow fan, (what I wouldn't give to get another UOP Shadow Tee) I hope you have success. I'll copy this to the Nostalgia Forum as well.

I'm sure Allen Brown would like to know as well - he apparently has no known locations for any DN9Bs:

I for one would rather like to know if my assumptions as to which DN9A chassis became which DN9B chassis are right, and if you're somehow connected to Mr. Nichols, maybe this is as good a chance as I might get!? Here's what I am led to believe:

DN9-1A => DN9-1B
DN9-4A => DN9-2B
DN9-5A => DN9-3B

I actually have locations for nearly all the 3-litre F1 cars but I haven't had time to update my database with the information. My site is misleading because that field is just blank where I haven't got round to it. I've changed it to say "on file".

Charles has contacted me about these cars and we have tracked down nearly all of them. Unfortunately, not everybody agrees on all the facts so it may not be a good time for me to post up a list.

Fines

I wish I could. It was something I wanted to ask Don when I visited him but there was too much to talk about and we never got past the DN1. At my current rate of one visit every five years, we should get to the DN9s about 2044

With luck, Charles should be able to get an answer to this a bit quicker.

Regards

Allen

Well I know where one of the Shadow's is:

John Kent currently races in TGP. His website is at http://www.shadowpromotions.co.uk/ and the car is currently for sale at 135,000 GBP.

It was at the Silverstone GP this year in one of the supporting races. My connection? I know Rupert Kent who's John son...
