Save Sentul Campaign!

As many of you know the A1GP calendar was released a few weeks ago including 11 rounds of which one is TBC.

HOWEVER, there was a notable ommision from the 2007/08 season calendar, which was the Indonesian round at the Sentul International Circuit. The race has been a popular venue in A1GP's first 2 seasons where they have experienced all manner of different weathers, but the lack of its appearance on the calendar has sparked controversy across the globe.

Therefore as one of the few dedicated A1GP websites, A1GPOnline.com have decided to support and back the campaign to get the A1GP circus to return to Sentul for a third time. The Indonesian Round of A1GP in the past 2 seasons have shown how a top level Motor Racing Series can go to lesser know circuits like Sentul, and be able to put on a superb show for the teams, spectators, viewers and the drivers themselves. A series like A1GP, which costs a fraction of that of Formula 1 really shows that a developing nation like Indonesia can put on an International specticle, worthy enough to put the Sentul Circuit and Indonesia on the world map of top class international motorsport venues across the globe which deserve to hold an event like the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.

Since the launch of the campaign, posts have been made across the world wide web, letters and emails have been sent to Indonesian Racing Magazines, the Indonesian Motor Sport Assosiation, through the FIA, the Sentul Circuit and A1GP themselves but as of yet with no success.

We as a site, after considerable support from the Indonesian fans, some of whom are members here and the forum, and have been campainging hard since the rumors first surfaced about the race being scrapped, feel that this is the next logical step to securing the future of the only top class International Motor Racing Series to visit the Indonesian Republic, and help secure the continued development and growth of Indonesian Racing Drivers up the ladder to success in the sport. A series like A1GP, in only what will be their third season, should be embracing all available opportunies to go to circuits like Sentul and show that they are embarking on a journey where no other motor sport series has gone before, and stamp down their claim as the leading Motor Sport series in the World.

A1GP NEEDS SENTUL and SENTUL NEEDS A1GP without each other the series and the circuit will of lost a major opportunity to make inroads in the Asian sector and gain a footing for years to come.

That is the reason WHY the Save Sentul Campaign has been launched. To show that their is support in the area, not just in Indonesia but across the globe, a union of passion, desire and determination of all, to share the one goal, To show Indonesian Motor Racing and A1GP at its finest and that another great race can be put on and for many many years to come!

To those of you who started the campaign in Indonesia, especially Ryna and Kiky who I know, I beg you not to loose hope and that we will fight to the very end to save the Sentul race and keep its deserved spot on the A1GP calendar each and every year! This IS NOT a one of solution but one that we are determined will GAURANTEE Sentul's place on the world Motor Sports map and be etched into the A1GP calendar for many years to come

We at A1GPOnline.com hope that the end of this campaign will have a successful outcome and we will do all in our power to aid the campaign. We have created a Save Sentul Banner, at the top of the site which can be used in any campaigning to save the race. We urge ALL supporters of the campign to help us reach the goal by helping, whether it be by posting in forums or writing letters but we must all work together to achieve our aspirations and SAVE SENTUL FROM THE AXE!!!

Thank You all for your loyal support,

Alex Blakeley
