Damn, looks like the first time in the GT3 era that I won't be able to make the race; do we know how much of it will be streamed this year?

I can't find the info yet, but it's usually a good amount. Motors should have a lot of coverage as well if you can get that this weekend.

I think it's a bit disappointing that it's in the middle of the day. It would look so much better if qualifying was during sunset or in the dark, as the Nürburgring and Le Mans 24h races do. Now I won't bother hurrying to Spa on Friday if I can't make it for night qualifying on Thursday evening (thanks, manager, for ignoring my request to have the day off!)

Still, though, SIKED!

I'm sorry to interrupt the broadcast discussion.

After a 1 year hiatus there will be another 'conuntdown' to the Spa24H with daily exclusive interviews on motorsport-magazin.com. The only downside: they are in German...

Any reason the Bronze test is on Tuesday afternoon and not on the Wednesday? Just seems strange to have 1 session on a Tuesday and nothing until Thursday.

Much of the evening running wont be shown on Motors due to a clash with Tudor.

It appears that Eurosport are showing a fair bit of coverage on Sat evening - looks like it is delayed as the programme is not scheduled to start until 7.00pm - better than none at all though and also it will be in HD which is infinitely better than Motors.

Many track limit violations.

Seems the #19 Huracan wont be repaired for the night session, will they be able to join the race with no night laps?

I presume they could qualify the drivers in the sister car?

I'm afraid 2010 was the final event I was interested in seeing. After GT1 and GT2 and G2/G3 nationals disappeared (and the multi class structure in general too after GT4 was gone by 2012) there hasn't been any incentive to watch for me. The track falling victim to F1 sterilization hasn't helped either but that's side point. It used to be in my top 5 events of the year last decade

The only bit of coverage I've had a glimpse in the last few years has been some of the early night darkness coverage in excellent PITCH BLACK, which is rare to see nowadays.

Anyway good luck to Zanardi, brave man

At least it is covered by cameras. Now I might often sound with SRO as if "everything used to be better", and yes I did have VERY soft spot for Spa 24 Hours in the FIA GT days unlike now, however there wasn't really proper pre race coverage on most events. And even the race usually got only couple of hours in the beginning and end. I loved the funny and insightful at-the-time commentary team and production values, but there was much less of it.

Also remember 2010 when GTWC was on the ironic support bill, and they were too lazy to even cover the Friday race. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RACE skipped because they couldn't bother. Wasn't it also the only race of the year besides the opening weekend (where they got pegged back afterwards) where the grandfathered Corvette was able to win, and certainly only for SRT-DKR-MadCroc, and they didn't even get coverage out of it...

Anyway, anyone seen these EXCELLENT Ratel interviews
http://sportscar365.com/industry/beh...tephane-ratel/
http://sportscar365.com/industry/beh...ne-ratel-pt-2/

Good old stories from the very early 90's even prior BPR. Makes you further appreciate what he did to Le Mans even though the story is already familiar to most of us in some form. The Ventury story is also interesting.

"Financial disaster which put SRO on the edge of bankruptcy" - that's a line to remember too.

Noone bothered open a dedicated Spa24h thread... I though about it a couple of weeks ago but I thought somebody else would do it. Sure

With all line-ups complete, I guess it's time for this: http://www.blancpain-gt-series.com/i...e-Spa-last.pdf

Pole for Audi #2, seems that the new Audi R8 will win if it has no problems.

Track limits seem an issues as all 20 cars under investigation..

That was slightly anticlimactic, but there could be aroun while host of penalties to come yet. I hope the stewards don't back out of issuing them because of how many there are.

couple of guys were trying to better their times on pitlane it seemed....

Quote:
***Race Control has been very strict in enforcing the track limits. Not only did they impose stop-and-go penalties during Free Practice, around half the field had their best lap canceled due to infringements. There were two other incidents later in Night Qualifying on pit lane, which saw two undisclosed drivers clocked at 138 km/h and 121 km/h, instead of the 50 km/h speed limit.

Blancpain tweeted 10 cars but it seems only 4 in the end. http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/24h...-la-superpole/

Nearly 3x over the Pitlane speed limit, impressive if not a little scary.

The Mclaren is quick on a single lap, its when it gets in traffic that it has problems.

Its 'too good' of a car so its cut back on power, at least compared to the Bentley and Nissan.
