ForumNick should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Engel & Erebus - Both docked 102 points ??

It appears that both Maro Engel & ErebusV8 have had the equivalent of all points scored at Winton, applied as penalties against their (Drivers & Teams) Championship points !

Natsoft are showing the Penalty Points, but all is very quiet on V8SC, Erebus, Ad-Cafe etc. websites. Why ???

Yes... but ONLY on (both) Points Tables (which possibly comes from Natsoft?)

BUT!!! Nothing in 'News' or 'Stewards Reports' or anywhere else

Why is it not being reported/explained on the 'official' / SpeedCafe / ErebusV8 websites

GTR... anything from the Powder Room ?

Texas = 2x 25 point infringements Here

You can find all the Stewards summaries Here but it looks like the additional points happened beyond the regular CAMS updates

As I understand it, an engine from #9 was sent back to Germany for refurbishing at AMG/HWA. The seals were removed from the engine prior to sending without obtaining explicit approval of the category technical director before doing so.

So it appears that the Erebus AMG team & car #9 were penalised what seems to be 52 points for the oversight.

Actually 102 points!

So effectively, they get 'psuedo' excluded from Winton Results? Why Winton? Did they run the refurbished/unsealed engine there?

So many unanswered questions.

Still seems 'fishy' to me, that it's not being reported... !

The sealing issue apparently happened at the team's home base at Yatala, not at a rave meeting. Why should meeting points be scrubbed for events that didnt happen at a race meeting?

Even if you gave Mr Engel back the 102 points, he would still be the lowest scoring regular series pilot.

ENGEL FUTURE IN LIMBO FOLLOWING V8 EXIT

Quote:
Adding insult to injury, Engel’s final points tally was recently docked 102 points after it emerged that the team had removed an engine seal without the permission of V8 Supercars mid-season.
possibly the source to this is this thread though

I think one of the biggest problems with Mr Engel is that he still resided in Monaco this year and commuted to each race. I would have thought the right way to do it is to move to Australia like Mr Premat did.

He got pole and would've won the race at this year's Macau GT had his car not failed. So he's a very fast driver, capable of lapping quicker than guys like Mortara, but driving in a set of new tracks with a foreign car, he suffered.

Maybe he was making sure he was on to a long term thing before moving? He (or Erebus?) must have dropped a bit of coin to commute to every round though
