bil588 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
http://www.racecar-engineering.com/ had a great article on the Epsilon EE-LMP1-07 in their April, 2007 issue. Lots of stuff about its low CG, local suppliers, aero, etc.

I think Michael meant Barazi would not be pursuing it. There is a close link between Barazi/Epsilon and Epsilon/Euskadi but they are not one and the same. I assume that if E-E finds the right funding the project could become real, let's hope we do not have another Zulltec story here.

It is a bit sad that they had to adopt the ugly Peugeot nose

I realy like the air intakes in the roof. Much nice than the huge snorkles of Peugeot.

In general it looks much better than the Peugeot.

I think it says somewhere here that the roof scoop has been dropped in favour of a NACA duct. Sorry to spoil your fun.

At least it won't have the ugle Peugeot snorkles.

The Dome S102 still looks better though.

600 Hours of wind tunnel testing. A promising project

It's indeed a shame they switched to the single seater nose

I just need to make this comment about the Dome.

I ******* love the body of the new Dome. I hope for christmas they sign a contract with Yokohama just to give it the Advan Colors. It would be one of the very best looking cars in the history of Le Mans.

Indeed...12 weeks in the tunnel? 60 days? That's right up there with Audi and Porsche I would like to think. That's impressive. To couple that with continuing development next year at the same rate?

For the drivers, I think that all we know is that it will be an all Spanish line-up, with a possibility of a Spanish rally driver.

Just curious as to a ball park $ figure to date, based on the wind tunnel hours assumed, any idea?

That's somewhat of a tough one because it depends tremendously on hourly rates. Over here in the U.S. the rate is about $1000/hr. So that makes this pretty easy, US$600,000 just for their testing (that's not including the model or development parts).

Wow! So you could be easily looking at a mil to date + more next season. You would have to figure that they have some substantial money behind them, and that's just to get the car built, no allowing for a racing budget.

Wonder who is funding it all?

Mike thats cheap - exchange rates are very nice things!

I reckon a european tunnel could be a fair wedge more

Set up with the assistance of local government funding, it has its sight set firmly on the sport's premier category.
