DeltaWing. Half the weight, half the power, half the race?
hopefully they make it atleast that far from the sounds of things that were expected to break not breaking and things not supposed to break breaking. |

Saw it in the flesh for the first time today. Looks just like it does in the photos, of course!

I just hope it takes the flag at the end--on the same set of rubber.
It is now being suggested that DW can do a 12 lap stint. Over 24 hours, that could suggest saving two pit stops--possible saving of another 1 second a lap compared to LMP2. This one second is on top of 2 second a lap for shorter fuelling times and another 1 second a lap for fewer wheel changes. I am more interested in what DW achieves than which Audi wins. |

And for what it's worth, with a Cd. .24 they'd be showing a 365 km/h top speed with 300 hp at the wheels. We know they've reduced power (< 300, looking like 260-275) to make the gearbox last a bit longer and they certainly have a higher Cd than .24. Last edited by MulsanneMike; 12 Jun 2012 at 21:35. |

Has anyone actually see how the Delta works in the braking zones compared to the other cars on the track. (Please spare us all the spin and ... ) Have you physically seen it, and what is it like? Is there anywhere we can get the sector times?

Not much strikes me about the times the Delta has recorded. Does not appear freakishly good at some things and poor at others from the times. Didn't seem to move away from the GT through the corner in miatanut's (thanks for vid miatanut) youtube clip, only jumping clear on the straight. Will be interesting. DW up there on. Adjusted for pit stop lengths, tyre wear and longer average stints, it looks like it could be up on top of the LMP2 tables and threatening some of the P1s.

Indeed, and unlike LMP2 the DeltaWing is driven by 3 professional drivers. In http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/100339 Krumm explains that they can probably challenge the LMP2 cars over 24 hours.
Sadly I doubt that the gearbox will last the complete race. I have the impression that the reliability issues have not yet been properly addressed. |

Interesting how they said the car has been shortened by 35 inches to fit inside the pit box at Le Mans.

3:42.612 they made, and they stop since the problem of extinguisher (yes, extinguisher) before trying to hit 3:3x. |
