There are times when you will know what a racing car will do. Take the great Fangio, for example, driving a Maserati in the 1957 German Grand Prix, chasing peter Collins in a Ferrari. Fangio knew that if he want flat out through a certain curve that had a hump in the middle of it, his car would take off and land thirty yards away at the edge of the racetrack. He'd never done it before. And when the spectators saw him do it for the first time, they thought that they were watching the beggining of a big and bad accident. But this car landed exactly where he thought it would, thirty yards away at the edge of the racetrack and another second and a half closer to Peter Collins. he said later that he didnt know how he knew, he just knew thats how it would happen.

This must have been some sight. Does anyone have pictures, or even better a video of this?

I'd like to see that as well, I rate that as the best drive ever, even though I've never even seen it. To take off seconds of the lap record during a race is just amazing, especially at 46. Only Rindt at Monaco 1970 comes close for me.
