You can scratch Massimiliano Pedala from that list as Roberto Colciago is fit again.

Thanks, I was not sure about that.

Is LuÃ*s Pedro Magalhães related to Jose Joao Magalhães (drives in German SEAT Supercopa and before in European Alfa 147 GTA Challenge)?

Whats the story about Magalhães? Where did you find that out? Is he running in the car Exagon ran Beltoise in and are they going to continue to run a local driver in some future rounds

He uses the car from Beltoise so I assume it's entered by Exagon.

AFAIK, they are unrelated.

LuÃ*s Pedro Magalhães is a former Portuguese karting champion (against the likes of Pedro Lamy), who was then unable to continue racing, due to lack of funds.

He made his comeback this year for the CNV/PTCC, promoting the cancer campaign (he suffered from it some years ago, but was fortunate enough to be able to recover).

aaah nice weather here in porto.

Small newsflash. Tielemans will get a ten place grid penalty due o an engine chance just before the test session yesterday. Also after a long time of absence on the paddock (afaik i havent seen them in a long time on the paddock), i spotted Martin Haven & David Leslie. And dressed in chevrolet blue, Rickard Rydell.

Two separate incidents in the 45 minute session meant two red flags. The first came with 20 minutes remaining: James Thompson hit the exit of the paddock chicane which tore most of the front right of his car off.

Remarkably, despite crossing the line on just three wheels, the Briton set his best lap of 2:08.939 which placed him tenth on the grid.
...
The session ended with a dramatic clash between Roberto Colciago's SEAT and Félix Porteiro's from BMW.

On the exit of turn 16 Colciago was on his last flying lap and hit the back of the BMW that was slowing down. The result was that both cars spun and crashed into separate walls.

The SEAT was in flames moments later but Colciago came out of the car unscathed. A previous lap by the Italian was good enough to make him fastest of the Independents and 11th overall.
...
Colciago has a big repair bill this season.

Colciago is not out of the frying pan just yet..
Quote:
SEAT Sport Italia driver Roberto Colciago had his qualifying times disallowed by the Stewards after today's session. The Italian, who had set the 11th fastest lap in the session - and the fastest of the Independents - was judged responsible for not respecting yellow flag, causing an avoidable collision with Félix Porteiro during his last qualifying lap and shoving the Spanish driver after the accident.

On top of this, Colciago has been fined a total of euro 3,500 and will be dropped ten positions on the starting grids for both the races of the next event. The team have lodged an appeal, therefore the decision remains suspended and Colciago will start from 11th position on the grid for tomorrow's Race 1.

What does 'shoving the driver after the accident' mean? That he attacked him?

Anyone know what the support races are apart from IFM? Apparently they were practicing until 9.30pm last night!

Yeah, a physical "I'm unhappy" shove.

Seems very very harsh IMO. He was clearly miffed his car had just caught fire and was on a hot lap. Yellows cloud it a bit though.

An awful first race in Porto

Lot of SC laps, but worse than that is there have not been even a real trying to overtake in this narrow "street" circuit. Three Chevrs, three Seats and three BMWs in peaceful procession

WTCC is great (particularly two or more years ago) but this has been one of the worse "races" (to such speak) I have seen in many years! (including F1!!)

It was a bit mind numbing really.

But Chevy took a 1-2-3 and Farfus finished ninth so it's all good!
