God bloody blimey, wiseguy, there are people that DO NOT surf the web for 24h a day…!
No, cannot find any European champion between 1973 and 2007 that did not win at least a single ERC round.
Apropos: Did a list of all 344 ERC rounds ever organised with dates, venues and winners of all divisions. Mailed it to Frank Van Rooy soon after Sosnová and hope he will put it asap into the history section of RXO, to make it available to everybody. On paper it has no less than 25 lengthway A4 pages yet…

What I do know is that MAtti very nearly won it once with a total maximum!!

And Kenneth must ahve come close before too?

How many rounds did Eklund win when he won it? Cant have been more than 3?

The first ERC year with results to drop was also the first year of the Group B cars – 1987. In 1988 Matti Alamäki (Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 E2) missed the point max. of 140 by just 3 points (or a second place instead of another victory) to claim a total of 137 points.

In 1989 Matti scored 140 points with his Pug and, therewith, the (first ever) maximum score.

Kenneth Hansen (Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth) did the same in 1991 in the Group A 2WD category.

And Martin Schanche (Ford RS200 E2) did it also in 1991, although he was excluded from the Irish ERC round (he refused to put his car into the Mondello parc fermé, after going berserk as Will Gollop had won the A final re-run), as by then it was still possibly to count an exclusion as a result to drop.

Per Eklund won 2 out of 9 ERC rounds in his title winning year 1999.

Your kind regards should be send to Niederkrüchten, Michael. That’s the place where I live. Hückelhoven (25kms away) is my birth place. However, ditto to Cologne!
