Its Done!

So it seems Ambrose won't be returning as a co-driver for next year.

Sweet

I said all along that the *****ing **** would struggle. And I've been proven right. He's no longer the Frod appologists darling, as anyone who was trackside at Bathurst for the driver's parade can confirm.

The cars have moved on, the gutless officals that let him punt 'n' push his way to two "championships' have moved on.

Bottom line: Paul Morris will have more Bathurst wins than Ambrose.

And he was supposed to show whincup how to properly drive a supercar this year. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Going to be hard to drop as the most over-hyped and absolutely miserable efforts in V8Supercars.

You have to feel for the bloke though. He put his hand up and said he wasn't enjoying it, wasn't able to perform at the high level he expected of himself and stepped out.

The media-inspired to-ing and fro-ing was in part at least caused by the team not definitively confirming or denying the continuation in the car. Of course this could have come from sponsor pressure (Xbox?) or to maintain interest in their team... the story is interesting with the returning star in Mr Ambrose, rather than Mr Pye in the chair...

Nah reckon that is well and truly coverered by those who predicted the move to foxtel will kill v8 supercars. Still they dribble on

That is very true -would be nice if both sides of the argument stopped claiming authority on the issue, gave it a rest for a couple of years and then see how healthy the series is going before declaring it a success of failure.

I think there is way more to the whole story than we may ever know.

Pye's contract and Dane as his manager. Marcos' own concerns about his level of competitiveness. Sponsors seeking value from the deal. Kids growing up. Family to be tended to. Sometimes it's just plain hard to be motivated in a lesser arena than one is used to. Perkins had the same issue initially when he returned from o'seas. The list can go on.

As far as I am concerned the guy is the genuine deal. Whatever people may think, he won the V8SC championship twice against some real hard heads (so fight fire with fire), was always fast. He tackled European and USA racing head on and was not disgraced. More-so he achieved more than us mere mortals who offer up opinions on him.

10/10 from me for dealing with the DJR/TP scenario with dignity and professionalism. No dummy spits, no cat calls from the sideline. The fact Penske is looking at how "he" can accommodate him in a 'commercial' role speaks for how he is regarded by those that matter.

Maybe I'd feel sorry for him if the sham will he/won't he come back had not occurred. Possibly due to sponsor/v8hq pressure, or perhaps to hold on to the Penske pension fund. But it has certainly damaged his legacy in my opinion.

If his heart was in it, I'm sure he would have been on the podium this year.

Despite this saga, things are looking up for DJRTP in 2016.

Cmon really, we had the Marcos hype for 6 months at least, nothing Brock ever did compares.

Nobody was ******* on about how Brock was going to win the series and wipe the floor with the existing champ...
