As my new job involves a lot of responsability, I'd like to be well rested and alert. Therefor I'll be returning home Friday morning 16th of June. I will still be attending testday, stay in Beaumont sur Sarthe for a week, do scrutineering, pitwalk on Tuesday, qualifying on Wednesday and Thursday, and the usual banter and festivities on Tertre Rouge. It's just that I'll be leaving on the Friday. Will watch the race at home, and will be fighting fit on the Monday to start my new career
Congratulations on the new job!

Such a shame you will miss the race, But it's completely understandable.

Congratulations on the new job VG. I've often thought that for serious followers of the race the ideal plan would be to attend the qualifying to experience the atmosphere and then go and watch the actual race on tv with all the live timing and discussions at your fingertips.

Congratulations on the job Vince. A cool and level-headed decision, if I may say so. As others have said already, we'll miss you for the race itself, but hopefully our paths will cross in the days beforehand. You'll have a pretty good idea where to find James and I during scrutineering, so we'll hope to see you there....

Brave and wise decision Vince, there is more in life outside LM and that is more important. I missed 2006 and never regretted it, it makes all other races more intence. Congratulations on the new job.

Congratulations Vince!

Have to say, I admire your professionalism, restraint and dedication, you are very correct. I can't honestly say I would have come to the same decision...

See you in 15 days

A good decision, even though it is not only the race you are missing... You are missing the TenTenths Meeting as well! :O
Hope to see you around before you leave

Does anyone have a spare seat going in a car for just the race itself? Or just the Test Day itself? Can't take time off work, but would like to go if possible...

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

I will be arriving to Le Mans next Tuesday and haven´t decided how because I am in Paris Right now. I´m still looking for a place to sleep as I don´t have a tent and buying that, a sleeping bag and a inflated mattress for only once seems too much. Anyone has 1 place in his tent or caravan? that would be REALLY helpful for me. Otherwise, which other options I have? (maybe I can check other forums...but don´t know many).

Thanks for your help and the countdown has started!
