But they're racing the clock, not eachother, so the true entertainment value should come from everyone having the ability to make unimpeded qualifying laps which the new system helps to produce. The knockout format helps to add tension to the sessions as well. Perhaps I view racing differently but that's a hell of a lot more entertaining than a single session watching cars attempting to find clear track.

Regardless, entertainment is the game that all sports are in and if the new format works and assists in that regard, great. If it's no more entertaining but assists with congestion then it may remain a feature at only the shorter tracks. |

Is knockout qualifying really more entertaining though?
Just split it in two, based on championship points, give 13 cars at a time 10mins, combine the times and there is your grid. Simple and we can then get on with the racing. Spice up practice, then when will the teams be able to get any proper work done? Seeing as they can't do any meaningful testing either You'd have thought the way the current mob does things that congestion in qualifying made it more entertaining as far as they were concerned... |

This new system does not have the same flaws does it really matter. Sueprcars teams were concerned about too many cars being on the track at certain tracks. So this is a fair system for everyone and the teams are happy with it. It will be interesting for spectators as well |

How is it fair for everyone?
It has turned practice into a qualifying session with the Top 10 getting a free pass....and practice has the full field on track so won't the same problems keep occuring The end of practice will just turn into full-field qualifying like we saw this year and past years. |

I think it is a good system.... it addresses the problems of 26 car traffic at short circuits, and is not flawed like other split systems, by weather variations. I am all for it. And there is the added bonus of drama that comes with any knock out scenario.

Drivers will now be *****ing they didn't get a clear lap in practice which meant they couldn't get into the Top 10. Quote:

This is different to the 2007 and 2008 method and it is for two rounds only. This is what the teams wanted, you keep ignoring that |

Depends on the engineering group, and how closely-aligned to PRA the team acutally is.

Because teams always know best afterall.... tell that to Bill France or Bernie Ecclestone
You are also seeming to forget this is a "discussion forum" for personal opinions, not a place to sit around and go "yes maam, good on you" every time Supercars HQ makes a decision .... |

My comment had nothing to do with the Supercars commission If my personal opinion is that it is wrong, then this is most definitely a place to discuss it |

Well your comment did, because the supercars commission are the ones who make these decisions. so the teams want something done about it. they go to the supercars commission who make these decisions and what should be done. Thus you are in opposition to both the teams and the supercars commsiion with a flawed response
