helterskelter should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Exactly. In fact, both of them were faster than Engstler.
As for Jorg, I have information from a person who was there that it was actually a consequence of a contact with the wall of his right rear tyre when he was actually going to do his first flying lap. Apparently, this made the right rear tyre get a relatively slow puncture, which enabled him to only do 1 flying sector. After that, he went through a whole lap going basically on the rim, and this affected the whole system of the rear of the car. Remember when Andy had that slow puncture in Curitiba they had to change the front suspension.
Anyway, through that first sector, even with a puncture going on, he was over half a second faster than Engstler. But no, he wasn't that much off the pace, after all...

In Q1 yes. But we were discussing if Priaulx in a damaged car would still have been faster in Q2 or if it would have been worth it for Jörg to put on 1 more set of fresh rubber in trade for 1 place higher on the grid vs a privateer he is not even fighting in the championship.

Your friend need to tell Jörg then because he blames himself for an awkward exit out of a corner over stressing the tire.

Yet you are 100% convinced slamming head on into a tire barrier would cause no damage what so ever?

Half a second faster than a guy with a secured gridplace ahead and no real chance to go higher and thus also probably saving fresh rubber for the race. Why waste a god set of tires when you can't lose a place nor gain a place?

Yes, and I said that Jorg was half a second faster in the first sector. Let's take the puncture and damages off, as we have different infos and we will never know where the truth lies.
Yes I am, because there is a lot more bodywork before the tire when you hit the wall with the front than when your car power-oversteers and you hit the wall directly with the tire.
Because the tyres limitations are designed to let the people have enough sets of tyres for the whole weekend. Engstler had only done 4 or 5 laps during Q1, so he had saved some tyres anyway.
