2011 Brazilian Manufacturers Championship
Copa Petrobras de Marcas is the Brazilian touring car championship for manufacturers and is using Argentinian TC2000 rules.
Moved posts from the TC2000 topic to this separate topic. FIRE Presentation of the Brazilian Championship will happen next Monday at the morning (LT). So the official name is Petrobras (Brazilian) Manufacturers Cup. Only three makes - Ford, Chevrolet and Honda. I'd expected two more.
Each round will have two 25min races. Don't like that very much, I prefer a few sprint races and a feature race. Anyway, good luck to them! |

Are the confirmed teams/drivers Brazilian top level teams/drivers?

Why is Antonio Pizzonia and Christian Fittipaldi will not drive this in Stock Car Brasil in the series?

Update:
Both Átila Abreu and Thiago Marques confirmed by the Brazilian press, not confirmed if they will race in the works team or another private team. |

After missing the release of the championship, finally today Toyota was confirmed. Bassani Racing will be the works team (and by now the only using this car) with four cars.

Championship debut delayed due to problems (probably delay) in the delivery of the engines. May 29 date is mantained but for the first testing. Round 1 will be at Tarumã in June 19.

More news appearing about the championship. Yesterday MetalMoro's Juliano Moro did the first shakedown of the Honda Civic at the Velopark. This week Galid Osman tested a TC2000 Honda Civic in preparation for the championship debut. Also confirmed that Thiago Marques and Átila Abreu will not race anymore for the Chevrolet works team, but for AMG (privateer), while Toyota seems to be a no-go for 2011 (by now) and Full Time will be the Honda works team. The huge numbers in the windshield are ridiculous. I prefer Nascar's numbers on "doors". But it's cool that several manufacturers race together with pedestrian cars.

First news about Pamplona Motorsport, another team in the series: the team will race Ford cars (not sure if will be the works team) and has two confirmed drivers, both sharing the same car (it's possible - each driver will do one race per round): Fábio Fogaça and Andersom Toso. The official presentation and preseason testing will be at Curitiba this weekend. By now:

The championship is on the way! First round this weekend at Tarumã. 13 cars entered for this round. Also a new schedule was announced:
June 19 - Tarumã July 17 - Interlagos July 31 - Jacarepaguá August 21 - Velopark Setember 25 - Brasilia October 30 - Jacarepaguá November 20 - Londrina December 4 - Curitiba (doubled points) And here is the entry list for Round 1 (without numbers):

Full entry list released on the official site. 20 cars and 22 drivers entered. Both races tomorrow: Race 1 at 10:40 LT (13:40 GMT) and Race 2 at 13:25 LT (16:25 GMT).
