Personally, despite my extreme cynicism regarding IMSA's willingness to BoP fairly, they've yet to make a change(that I can recall) on a race weekend that wasn't anything more than clarifying a previously announced adjustment so I feel I can trust them not to make a change on the actual race weekend.
Even if they're planning to try and guarantee DPi superiority they'd have to avoid making changes constantly if they want to appear to be acting fairly, after all. |

I don't recall a change after qualifying, ever ... and after all the cars are essentially in parc ferme then, right? I think what we see Thursday evening will be pretty much the real thing. of course, not every team might go all-out for pole, as it is pretty meaningless ... but other than saving the tires for the first stint (and it wouldn't save much,) what would be the advantage of doing slow laps.
Nah, Thursday afternoon will be real. |

I'm not expecting to see the ultimate pace of the Caddys until Sunday afternoon. That's not a complaint, but wouldn't surprise me if they turn down the dials a little until then.

Neither do I. What I recall are ACCUSATIONS thereof by fans(and rarely, teams) referring to things that either did not happened or were misunderstandings of what was going on. The rare team complaint ALWAYS falls under the latter.
The air intake debacle with the Lamborghinis a year ago is probably the most well-known case of this. Even now some believe IMSA changed a rule on race weekend when that's simply not the case. |

Bryan Sellers will be with McLaren and KPAx for PWC as many of us know. What I hope it means is that he has 2 jobs now.
A part of me is afraid that his position with the Miller Lamborghini is precarious because Lambo may want to put in a factory driver in there. Just like what happened to Pumpelly? |

Both are solid drivers ... i expect they will stay employed. I haven't heard that Sellers' job was in jeopardy ... I haven't compared the two schedules to look for overlap.

Can anybody speculate what the additions/subtractions are going to be to the Sebring 12 hour race from the Daytona 24 hours field.
I don't think the #81 DragonSpeed Oreca and the #68, #69 Fords will be back. But I'm not sure about any others. Can't think of anybody who will be at Sebring who is not at Daytona. |

Marino wasn't particularly fast in the events he did, Harry Tincknell is a bit of a superstar and ended up taking Marinos spot. Billy Johnson was also dropped from the WEC squad after Le Mans as well. Marino is still working for Ford on the GT road car.
Ford has really put together a superstar team, so it's not a surprise that some good drivers like Johnson and Marino struggled a bit. The bar is ridiculously high. I think Marino would do far better in LMP2, or even DPi. |
