Bathurst TV Coverage.
Hey People,
Help me here, I shall be away up in Cairns on holiday when the Bathurst 1000 is on. I have yet to miss 1 of these races for as long as I can remember. I shall be having it taped so I can watch at a later date (if needed) but what I would be interested to know is "Can anyone tell me if this race is telecast live and for the whole race / day". Im pretty sure its beamed live around Australia, but I would just like someone from that region to confirm for me and settle my fears of missing it. cheers. |

It will definatly be shown live on the Sunday but I don't about Friday and Saturday. If it is shown live all 3 days it will be as follows:
Friday 7th October 11:00 - 14:00 V8 Supercars (Qualifying) Saturday 8th October 10:00 - 15:00 V8 Supercars (Top 10 Shootout) Sunday 9th October 05:00 - 15:00 V8 Supercars (Warm Up and Race) 15:00 - 17:00 Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix (1 hour and 30 minuits delayed) 20 hours of racing over 3 days. |

Gee.. you would think that after outcry from F1 fans after the 2004 Japanese Grand Prix that they would have realised that we would prefer the race was delayed until nighttime, so we get to see the complete race, not a bloody hack and edit job like last time!
God help them if it rains. |

They should only allow ad breaks long enough to a) go to the loo, b) go to the fridge or c) boil the kettle

Why can't the Formula 1 start at 3:00 - 5:30? It will be delaying the news 30 minuits. It's not that long. What time is the Formula 1 on TV in NT, SA, NSW, VIC, QLD and TAS? |

Geeez guys!!!
Anyone remember 1996? Channel 7 only gave live coverage of Bathurst, SBS showed Sandown, and Nine/Win/NBN would only show the local races for F1 live, and that was very rare anyway. There are dozens upon hundreds of comercial deals that 10 need to heed, and I am more than happy with a mild delay for F1. Why don't any footy fans whinge about NRL being delayed on Sunday, or only having 2 games on free to air? Heck, as a massive Rugby fan I thank the heavens I have Fox. I personally think we are all very spoilt as far as it pertains to motorsports, especially compared to the 70's and 80's. Appart from the minor mistake or stuffup that we can make light of, I don't understand why you all whinge. How about instead of whinging, we appreciate what we do get. Otherwise, why don't you get a bank loan, and start your own Motorsports channel and show Channel 10 how to do their job. |

If you're going to make a comparison of motorsport to football, you're only enforcing the fact that we are terribly deprived! I am thankful for what we get on TEN but gee whiz, you can't compare it to football. (I'm very tempted to go into how much I hate football here but I will restrain myself.) |

You haven't watched many Bathursts mabs - the race goes for 6-7.5 hours, it doesn't finish to 4:30 (at least) that's why they can't show F1 live!!

I am more than happy with the way motorsport is shown on tv( I only have free 2 air ). Channel 10 does a great job( except for Tim Smith ) given the balancing act between the sport and commercial considerations. Sure there is always room for more but I try and go to see races live where possible and catch up with whats on tv.Considering what was around 20 yrs ago weve got it pretty good.
